Not a true 5 star facility

Hotel service and staff is 5 stars and the location was a nice walking distance to the Old Town, but the hotel itself is very dated and showing a lot of wear and tear. I noticed a lot of the 5 star hotels were closer to the water but much further from Old Town, so I decided to compromise and book this hotel just to be closer walking distance to Old Town. This was also not super expensive for a 5* rated hotel but I just really was not impressed by the room at all. The walls are super thin and we were under the rooftop pool/bar area so you could hear the chairs and tables scraping all night long, in addition to any and all noise from the hallway. I slept horribly the first night and wore noise cancelling headphones the 2nd night. If you’re looking for a true 5 star hotel this is not it, but I will say it was clean and the air conditioning worked well.

Great location to explore Old Town Hoi An...5 mins walk from all the action, yet peaceful

This hotel is located right at the border from where old town Hoi An starts.....just a 5 mins walk.its right on the river, but the part where you wont see the bamboo boats with lamps....that is just across the bridge.Despite being so close to the noisy street full of all the pubs and street food,it is in a nice quiet area, perfect to walk back to for a good nights sleep. the hotel has 2 wings and we were in the older wing. The room are very spacious, with a large bathroom. Our room also had a balcony overlooking the pool and partial view of the river.A huge Openable window gave us a good view of the river. One problem in the room though is very poor lighting....wish it was more bright.lot of furniture and fixture was pretty old, since this was the older wing, but no complaints, just an observation.Everything was working and in order. The breakfast here is very good and has many choices, even for Indians and also quite a bit for Vegetarians. One of the best orange juice i had was here. The hotel has a lovely roof top bar, which unfortunately we remembered on the last day and went too late. But lovely view and breeze and there is another pool there at the rooftop. To explore entire Old town Hoi An,it would be quite some walking from here, but we kind of liked the location for it being near everything, yet in a quiet area. will probably stay here again when i visit,as Hoi an is a beautiful town worth visiting again. will surely recommend.

Our corner suite at the M Gallery - Hotel Royal Hoi An was a sanctuary from the hustle, bustle and heat of Old Town over our 7 night stay. The room was beautifully designed with Japanese accents and bedding was comfortable. We had access to the Executive Lounge during our stay. We frequented the lounge regularly for complimentary evening drinks and nibbles as we watched the sunset before venturing out for our evening meal. However, I can only give this Hotel a 4 point review due to one major deal breaker - accessibility. Ok, I accept that Vietnam is not a place that prioritises accessibility, but an elegant bronze handrail particularly at the front corner entrance of the Hotel Royal would make all the difference.
