It’s a good job my employer paid for this or I would be asking for a refund. Room on third floor but lift only took us as far as second, and then I had to walk around a maze to find my room. The bed was awful and the shower was awful, only mildly warm and very low pressure. Breakfast too was shocking, only sausages on buffet for ten minutes, and by the time the bacon and hash browns arrived, I’d had enough of waiting so left it. Excellent wi-fi though.

Was looking for somewhere for just the one night, in a reasonable location and for a reasonable price. Other than the hot water having trouble heating up, the room provided everything I needed.

Was here with some friends before heading out for evening meal lass on bar was more bothered about talking to friends than serving a guest breakfast was not nice heard some one moaning about cooking my poached eggs Room was OK bed comfy

Oh dear I wish I had read the reviews ! Absolutely not what you expect from mercure and no way that many stars, it’s more like a budget B&B however the rooms are not clean nor is the property the restaurant has 5 choices of ready meals that are no doubt microwaved. I don’t know what to say just avoid

I stayed at the Mercure Darlington as part of the Duelling Weapons Symposium, and the staff who worked the meal for the evening were incredibly open and friendly and extremely helpful and made it a lovely evening had by everyone!
