My partner and I were on vacation and had the option to stay at any 5-star hotel in Adelaide. We chose The Playford. We stayed for four nights. Our North Terrace suite was well-appointed, really spacious and bright, with plenty of storage space for a longer stay. Our check-in went well. The staff at the bar were engaging and friendly. Unfortunately, breakfast put a damper on our stay. There was more than enough very average food on offer, but close to zero service of any kind. Other than asking for our room number, the staff went absent. To order an omelette, we had to "hunt" down a waiter. Not once in four days did any of the breakfast area staff greet us or make us feel welcome. Neither the food nor the service at breakfast were anywhere near 5-star. This was among the poorest hospitality we have experienced in years at any venue.

A lovely stay. Our room was renovated and the bathroom was absolutely amazing. As we were facing the alley though there was some noise from a night club that we heard every night except Monday night. So I would not have a room on that side of the property again. Even with the double glazed doors and windows we could hear the music. It was bearable and not loud enough to be asked to be moved but be aware you are in the middle of the city so there is noise. I guess they tried their best during the renovation to sound proof a pretty old building. The food, the bar and the staff were all absolutely AMAZING!

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying overnight in one of the North Terrace Studio Suites last weekend. Beautifully refurbished , large , quiet room , including massive spa , & even a small balcony to enjoy wonderful views of Adelaide. Service was first rate , with a comfortable 11am checkout . Great gym and indoor pool also on site w/24hr access. Complimentary bottle of wine appeared to help celebrate my wifes birthday , was a lovely touch. Highly recommend.
