Reasonable priced stay, but things to consider

Recently had a 2 night stay in a family room for 4 people. Positives: Fair priced room during an easter bank holiday, and good to have a half board offer Swimming pool and gym available Close to train station and shops Negatives: The hotel is opposite a bar and pub. We were in a street facing room and each evening (Saturday and Sunday) it was LOUD music which the windows weren't able to block out. I think this went on until 100/1115 but I am not certain because I had to zone out the noise. Customers should be told in advance to expect this and silly as this seems, every room should include ear plugs because it is very difficult to get to sleep. Food quality at dinner is average, the pizza's in particular. While the staff are very friendly at the restaurant, there are not enough of them. Therefore service is slow. Unable at dinner to charge additional costs to the room, which I thought would be standard. Meant having to go up to my room and get my card for payment. The room wasn't ready at 255, although I appreciate technically check-in is at 3. Was a bit frustrating. Also at check-out, I dislike it when staff don't ask how your stay was. I would have been happy to raise the above, but was just told 'thanks' when handing in the key and the staff member was content nothing else is owed.

we was put on the top floor with a child, there was stains all over our carpet and down the back of the bed. the banging from other rooms at night was loud and clearly nothing done about it.
