God awful hotel!

Just avoid this old, uncomfortable run down hotel that’s living in the 90s. The rooms are way too warm and u comfortable. So much so that you can either choose to have the risk. Fan on and get a sore throat from it or have the window open and get no sleep as theres a busy dual carriage way 9 floors down that sounds like a your sleeping next to a busy runway. (Or trying to anyway) The bathroom facilities were rubbish and it’s like they tried to be a low cost hotel and hip with these rubbish pod style bathrooms but failed damn awful! Mattresses are u comfortable and are basically dirty mattresses with a bit of foam on the top and I can tell you they don’t clean between the foam toppers and the beds, Disgusting! The cups left in the room are off white and look dirty… that or they are old. I got back from work at 11pm to get a new key cut as mine stopped working. The reception machine didn’t work at cutting keys on the left side because it’s “not working” so went The other one…. Now that would have been fine if I hadn’t then grabbed a cigarette from my room and had a cigarette for 5 minutes outside to then be asked by a security guard for my room number to get back to my room. Not only did I bloody walk past them with my room key in hand but they saw me leave!!! Absolutely pathetic! Never in my life have I needed to verify with an outdoor contractor my personal details to get back into my room when I have the damn key to it! I go downstairs at 3am as I still can’t sleep… guess what…. I’m asked my room number again despite being one of three guests in the lobby and again coming from the lift area with my room key! Why not just lock the front doors like most hotels?! The tv sound is so tinny, it’s like it’s coming from inside an empty plastic box inside a bathroom it’s that bad quality. 9 is too quiet and far away but 10 is unlistenable as it’s tinny and hollow sounding! Maybe some investment? Making a cup of tea with the world’s worst kettles too! Urgh, I hated everything about this hotel. The reception (apart from the young blonde lad who re-cut my key) is all pretty rude. He tbh was friendly and polite. The hotels awful. There’s a premier inn over the road… I’d recommend that which is better value, comfier and more pleasant. I’ve nothing good to say about my stay here and I’d quite like a refund from the two nights of no sleep if I’m honest…. It’s basically a glorified overpriced prison room / nursing home except not as clean.

We stayed for 1 night on Saturday. Initially thought hotel was basic but clean and fine for the night. When we got back around 1am security were manning who could come in and out which made us feel reassured. However, from 3-6am on our floor people were having parties running up and down the corridors smoking in the corridors and arguing. We attempted to contact reception via the WhatsApp number which we were given but had no response. There were large groups lingering in the corridor throughout the night. Wouldn’t stay again.

The hotel was in a perfect location as it was only a walking distance to the office I had to visit. In addition to that, it was comfortable. The sheets were clean.

Friendly and helpful staff. Enviroment a bit worn in public places. Room was clean and bed was very good to sleep. Breakfast was also good without any suprises. Room for improvement, but very good hotel at this age and price.

Stayed for one night whilst visiting the university. Room clean and comfy bed with extra pillows available. Had breakfast which is slightly cheaper if you pre-book and had a good choice and selection. It was about a 20 min walk from the train station. They did have a small charge per bag for us to leave our luggage whilst we went to the university open day and this is the first time we have been charged by any hotel, including other ibis hotels. But we still paid it as at £2 per bag wasn't too bad.
