Check in was simple although I tried checking in online and was unable for some reason other than that it’s my go to hotel in Coventry and the breakfast and rooms are very good

Room OK but poor breakfast & dinner

Last time I stayed here 4 years ago the breakfast was excellent. Not this time. Only small plates supplied. Just big enough for a slice of toast and if you want the full English you have to try to got it on top of the toast. I wanted a bacon *egg roll but there weren't no rolls and no poached or fried eggs. Ordered dinner on Saturday night. Over an hour later I cancelled my order. Couldn't wait any longer. I don't think I'll be back.

As always, a very warm welcome from the staff and friendly service from beginning to end of my stay. Ibis hotels around Europe seem to be the same in my experience. Room was spotlessly clean and entirely adequate for my needs. Fabulous hot shower and large screen tv. Comfortable beds.

Very poor, firstly I was not aware of the charge for the car park, then th room we were allocated smelled very badly of drains. We were moved into another room which was clean and not smelly. We then asked for food, they had run out of my first choice so I gave a second, there was only one left and my friend had to change her choice. There were only two tea bags in the room and when we asked for more were give two more, not really enough. I asked if the food choices would be available the following night and was told there would. The following night the was even less choice we could have some sort of curry but no nann bead just garlic bread or chips. The fire door were wedged open all night and over all I would say you need more staff, a manager that can order enough food to cover a busy week and knows health and safety law. I would not be staying again if I can help it

Gone downhill since my previous visit

I stayed here 3 years ago and thought it was a great budget hotel but this year my friends and I all thought it had really gone downhill. I was given a room on the ground floor which was fine but one friend arrived 2 hours later and because she got 2 dogs with her, she'd requested a ground floor room but was put on the 2nd floor as there were no ground floor rooms left. Why didn't they put me on 2nd floor? I wasn't fussed. The breakfast was shocking, nothing like the pictures on the website. No proper sized plates, only tea plates and slightly larger. The larger one could just about take a slice of toast and if you wanted a full English you had to pile it on top of the toast I've never had bacon, sausage and hash brown on toast before. On the 2nd day, all I wanted was a bacon & egg roll for my breakfast but there were no rolls at all, and no fried or poached eggs, only scrambled. On the Saturday evening my friend and I ordered food in the restaurant but after waiting an hour & 10 minutes we were fed up with waiting so we cancelled and asked for refunds. The lady behind the bar was on her own, dealing with check ins, taking food orders, pouring drinks and swerving food. She was working very hard but needed help. Certainly wouldn't stay here again.
