I've enjoyed some good stays at this hotel in the past, but I'm afraid the room temperature was far too low (16.5 deg. C) when I arrived around midnight, and the heating was not effective. Not only that, but when I arrived late the following evening (working late both days) the temperature was low again. After 2 attempts by the night porter (who was very willing), I went to bed with shirt and socks on.

Overall OK but badly stained carpets and sticky handrails detracted from a feeling of a well appointed hotel

Disappointing Quality Stay

Firstly I had to move rooms as the shower was not functioning properly in this room. Then the new room was not well cleaned- there was hair on the floor in the bathroom and toilet and there were coffee stains on the walls in the main room and also in the toilet. Not what I would expect for a Novotel paying £80. Food was really ordinary- I ordered Haddock but didnt expect a frozen style piece- I expected Freshly battered piece as per the Menu. Definitely wont be staying here again. I left my details with the Reception staff so am expecting a reply from the Duty Manager.
