Good food but 1 star hotel

Bad - The worst room ive ever stayed in. Smelt damp, floor stained in multiple areas. Skirting in hallway rotten from issues with moisture/damp. Well overpriced. Good - staff helpful, cleaners good, food good, pool nice and clean. Good location for visiting but not staying in Marseille.

Staff were excellent but hotel is badly needing modernisation.

The staff were excellent but the hotel is badly needing modernisation. The electronic door locks constantly fail to work, meaning repeated trips back to reception. The location of the hotel is too far away from public transport routes so, unless you have your own vehicle, taxi is the only means of getting to/ from the place, with the cost for this quickly mounting up.

Very average and not the Novotel experience you would expect!

lwa3 Families - TripAdvisor review

We stayed here for 2 weeks in August. Pros - the location is amazing - literally 14mins drive to Marseille. The car park is very spacious and free to use. The pool is very well maintained, clean and nice to use, pool towels provided from reception free of charge to use and return. The staff at breakfast are very friendly and the range is quite nice. Cons - it took 9 days from us reporting the fridge in our room not working for them bringing us one from a different room. The air conditioning barely works and the room was so warm! The staff on reception speak very limited English so often it is difficult to communicate if there are any issues. Although the breakfast provided is quite nice, it is poorly managed as things often run out (juice, bread, fruit) and either not topped up or often warm. The room we stayed in was clean but very old looking and not the typical Novotel style you would expect. The sink leaked our entire stay, often towels and toilet rolls were not replenished by the cleaning staff.

Stayed here 2 nights with kids before heading to our holiday rental. The check in staff is utmost unfriendly. Struggling with luggage, no staff offered help. They just watched (they were not busy). As a gold member, not even welcomed not thanked for my loyalty. The hotel is old and filthy. The walls in our room were full of yellow stains. The sofabed was made, but the cushions were just dropped in the corner of the room on the floor… the soap dispensers didn’t work. The keycard didn’t work. Had to change 9 times the cards. In the end, we just had to use one card for both rooms multiple times before it wanted to open the room. The whole hotel is in desperate need of a refresh, this is not a 4 star hotel. Because of the long road, we tried the restaurant, fearing the worst. This however was a great experience. Very friendly staff and quality of food was ok. The breakfast was a disaster. No plates. All trays empty. The waffles were disgusting. Eggs and sausages were good - if there were any. Staff shortage was clearly visible and they weren’t helpful. Not even picking up empty trays of food, clients had to beg to get some food. Pool was cold - but logic because of the mistral - but all the security barriers are broken. There was a nice corner for kids with books and a small playground. No possibility to charge an electric car.
