Bedroom large comfortable beds evening meal food was amazing camembert to start followed by chicken tikka masala and rigatoni pasta Bolognese! All wonderful but the best was service 100% from Mr mian he was polite warm welcoming and just wonderful to start our holiday off thankyou

This hotel sadly is getting the unfortunate honour of getting my first 1 star rating. I have stayed in a fair few hotel and the standards here leave a very bad taste. I stayed for 2 nights during a business trip to the NEC. In terms of location, its ok to get to. From Birmingham International train station, there are stairs taking you to street level, followed by clear signage a 5 min walk to the hotel. From the NEC, its a little longer but an easily walkable distance. Upon arrival, there was a long queue with no option of a digital check in. Only 1 person serving customers and a significant lack of haste of the staff member. I was given a first floor room, with basic car park view. The room itself was big however clearly was no designed to be a hotel room. A old red sofa sits in the middle of 2 windows, but sits a foot away from the wall; reason for this is the long curtains will not close if its not. The desk also has a massive space behind it as it does not fit. The desk is also short; can fit a laptop at a push. The TV is a huge distance from the bed, you may need to glasses just to see it. Only positive with the room was the bathroom, nice fitting, with walk in shower. The restaurant downstairs served basic food. The breakfast is served from 7am to 10am. I find this a little late for a conference centre and airport hotel; in my view this needs to open earlier. The breakfast was very basic, with your standard offering of full english and continental options, however the baskets/hot plates are often empty and again no haste to refill. I found it also does no start on time, with plates starting to be filled about 7:10 onwards. My final qualm is the key cards. On both days after breakfast the keycard fails and you have to go to reception to get it reset. Very inconvinient. An extremely disappointing stay, with customer service, room layout and food issues that need addressing if this hotel wants to improve. Check out other options first when visiting the NEC.......

When we arrived it was very busy with multiple different events at the NEC but the woman on the front desk, Helen, was exceedingly good to us and went above and beyond to make sure we had rooms next to our friend (while we were a couple she was a solo traveller who was a little anxious) Helen was full of laughter and kindness and made sure we felt comfortable and welcome Each time we came and went through the lobby she would greet us happily and personally, she checked up on us each time and truly made the whole trip extremely enjoyable. We found ourselves looking forwards to coming back to the hotel after a long day and while normally most of the fun is had at the NEC she made the hotel as much as a highlight as anything else. We were truly sad to check out this time

Cheap, somewhat cheerful and budget friendly.

Facilities 3/5. No frills has what you need and not too much more. Beds are acceptable though for our group of 3 in one room 2 of the beds were small singles so a bit of a tight squeeze. Condition of the room is passable, some broken sockets/toilet flushing switch & the bathroom tiles are sunken in the shower and grouting is missing on the floor. Cleanliness was acceptable but not amazing. Location is 4/5 if you are going to an expo in the NEC it’s a convenient walk though it is through the warehouses behind the NEC there is a clear path to the sky bridge into the NEC. There’s no general shops within walking distance with the exception of a Londis inside the NEC. All the other shops are brand shops so bring everything you need or expect to get a taxi. Staff 5/5 especially Helen on front desk is an absolute star ✨ Food - 2.5:5 - somewhat lacking on choice and the water in particular has a bad aftertaste from the dispenser but from tap in the room is fine. If you’re not a big breakfast person pass and get dinner elsewhere (though the options around the NEC are nice they are expensive). If you need breakfast to start the day it will do the job. Price - 4/5 - cheap price for busy weekend. Conclusion- it’s a budget hotel and it shows but mostly in places where you expect. If you are planning on spending the bare minimum time in your room then it’s cheap and does the job. If you plan on being in the room more an upgrade elsewhere might be worth.

10/10 Lovely welcoming hotel and perfect garden. made to feel very welcome and perfect for me and the dogs. well maintained spacious garden. rooms were simple but clean and fresh. well located for NEC,TRAIN STATION AND AIRPORT AND RESORTS WORLD
