We stayed at the Pullman Cairns International for 5 nights in February. The hotel is very nicely appointed and the room was newly renovated and super clean. We decided to have a drink at the bar and a bite to eat. That’s where we met Ben the bartender. We must say his knowledge of wines is excellent and his service is exceptional. The next night the drinks arrived without even asking. Ben is an asset to the bar as well as the restaurant. We also have to mention Thelma, beautiful friendly person and the service just the best. We ate at the restaurant every night just because of Ben and Thelma. Hope to meet them again on our next visit.

Upon my recent sojourn to the Pullman Cairns International, I was immediately transported to a realm where time stood still - specifically, the 1980s. The décor, a masterclass in vintage chic, was so authentic it had me questioning whether I'd stumbled into a time warp. The faux marble, a touch so elegantly tacky it could only be described as avant-garde, was complemented by woodgrain joinery that bore the proud scars of a thousand encounters. It was, in a word, hideous. Yet, it was hideous with a purpose, evoking a nostalgia for an era most were happy to forget. The carpet, a patchwork masterpiece, was held together not by mere threads, but by green duct tape. This ingenious solution not only added to the aesthetic but also provided a thrilling game of 'spot the original carpet pattern'. It was an interactive experience I hadn't anticipated but deeply appreciated. However, the pièce de résistance of this establishment was its ability to capture and bottle the essence of a bygone era's aroma. The wet, stale, musty smell was so overpoweringly authentic that it clung to my clothes with a persistence usually reserved for the scent of a fine perfume. This olfactory souvenir was a constant reminder of my stay, long after I had returned home. The Pullman Cairns International is not merely a hotel; it is a time machine. A journey back to a simpler, if not slightly more questionable, period of interior design. It's a testament to the fact that they don't make them like they used to, and for that, we can be eternally grateful. An experience so uniquely distressing, it borders on impressive. A very authentic reproduction of what can only be described as a seriously cheap hotel. Bravo!

Have been visiting this hotel for years was disappointed to see it looking very ordinary the lounge area and bar unattractive cheap looking furniture has completely lost its elegant style the outside of the building is very grubby looking needs a good wash down

I went to the Wizards High Tea at the Pullman Cairns International with my Mum and 4 year old.it was an enjoyable experience with delicious food. Table Service from IERNANDO and others were excellent. My only suggestion is having a child price as they don’t eat as much.

Arrived late in the evening for an overnight stay. Trainee booked me in which took forever - claiming the check-in computer was slow (?) Finally got to the room and noticed there was no complimentary tooth brush available. Called up twice before it arrived (>15min before it arrived and only after the 2nd call). One would expect the Pullman to have these items in your room!! As for the checking out experience, waited at the front desk for > 7min while the front desk team were sitting inside the front office chatting and laughing (with zero interest in their guests). After 7min I called the hotel from my phone to gain some interest and service. Taxi arrived so I finally got someone’s attention and left the room key and departed. Will be making sure they refund my deposit! Stayed in room 604. Overall a terrible stay. There must be better hotels in Cairns! The Pullman CNS International is on holiday mode.
