We had a wonderful stay here at the Mercure in Biel. Check in was fast. Room and Hotel was spotless clean. Aircondition worked great. Bathroom with showergel, shampoo, liquid soap. Unfortunately we did not have time to check out the fitness and sauna on the 6th floor. 24h Reception is great. Free coffee and water a great plus. Matrass was a bit hard, but we did not mind. Would choose is definitly again.

The hotel is comfortable. Well situated. With a parking. And the staff welcoming and smiling. We liked that. Out mixed feeling comes from the noise level. Not from outside. Not from other rooms, but from inside. The AC system is very noisy and we did not manage to master it. Our unit was pushing air at mac level all the time. Even if we would turn it off it would go back to full speed after 20 minutes. If we remove our door card, it would go to full speed immediately. At 2am we ended up removing the room fuses to cut all electricity in the room to sleep. I dont know if this is a defect or by design, but this was the first time I was faced with an AC systems with its own initiative :-). I would like to have control on the room AC and cut it if I need to. Here I had very little control even on the temperature setting.

When the maximum temperature in the room is reached, the cooling system automatically switches on, regardless of whether the door card is inserted into the main switch or not. Just so typical of a Mecure Hotel. Nice modern decor with all the facilities you need. Seemed to me a classic business hotel being also fairly central Room was clean and well laid out with no space wasted A good choice for a 4 star Good breakfast fare

We only stayed one night. We liked a lot big bathtub and two sinks in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable and room spacious. Breakfast was delicious, even with prosecco, fresh made orange juice and big choice of food. There was also coffee machine by the reception with take away coffee. Which was very nice, cause coffee at our room tasted terrible. Location was not far from city centre and we've got parking space just in front of the hotel for free.

Central location but a good 10-15 minute walk away from the nearest train station. Service and hospitality from staff is good. And breakfast spread is great. However, the room lacks some ammenities - it does not provide slippers, toothbrush, conditioner. The temperature cannot go higher than 22 deg C and even if it is not a high rise building, water flow from shower is a bit weak.
