Clean, comfy, outside of LEZ zone but incredibly expensive for an ibis 'Budget'

400e for 2 nights for 2 rooms is a crazy amount of money for an ibis Budget. Just paid 100e less for a Lovely house in Bruges! However, hotel prices in Koln were incredibly high family of 5 we had little choice . Did the job but certainly not worth that amount of money. It was clean, comfy beds and powerful showers as a positive. Let's be honest thank goodness it was at that price. Good location outside of the LEZ zone and a quick hop onto the tram 8 mins walk away.

It is what it is....

I am sure that everyone that is booking this type of hotel knows what they are going to get, a functional room with no frills. The beds are comfortable, the shower works and you get WiFi. Good for one, but a squeeze for two. So all you romantic couples out there, you need to look elsewhere!

Eine absolut schreckliche Erfahrung! Ich war dort für 2 Nächte (18.-20. August 2019) und wurde von einer Bettwanze gebissen. Weil das Hotel keine Nachtrezeption hat, zeigte ich am Morgen der Managerin die Wanze. Die Frau entschuldigte sich und versicherte mir, dass mir das Geld für die Nacht erstattet wird. Die nötigen Dokumente dazu wurden ausgefüllt, aber ich habe noch immer kein Geld erhalten! Niemand geht ans Telefon oder beantwortet Kontaktanfragen. Abgesehen von der widerlichen Erfahrung mit der Wanze also auch noch ganz mieser Service. This place is awful. I stayed for two nights (18-20 August 2019) and was bitten by a bed bug. I found the bug and told the staff the next morning when checking out (there is no staff available during the night). They apologized and said that they would reimburse me for the night and transfer the money to my credit card. This has still not happened and no one picks up the phone or answers contact requests. So not only did I have to go through this disgusting bed bug experience, the place has terrible customer service, too.

If you seek to admire the view of verdant park-land from your hôtel window, go somewhere else! If, on the other hand you wish to be warmly welcomed into a spotlessly clean, warm & dry facility within 5 minutes of the Autobahn, at the SW corner of Köln, then this is the place for you. I mark "Service" down, simply because this is an Ibis Economy, so very little service is offered. If you want to pay more and get lots of service,. the excellent Mercure is just down the road. I should also mention that my large happy dog was made just as welcome as I!

This was my second stay at the hotel. Good value for rather small cost. Very basic, but quite adequate for a short business visit. Could have been better if I did not see a cockroach in the bread basket at breakfast.
