We had a wonderful one-night stay at the Old Cataract Aswan!! We stayed in a Palace Luxury Room with a Garden View. The room had a king size bed along with a very nice sitting area with a couch and chairs. The bathroom had a separate toilet room (with sink), along with a spacious room with double lavatories, a walk in shower, and large tub. We took the mini-tour hosted by Marvel, who did a super job showing us the historical aspects of the hotel--the Sir Winston Churchill Suite (which we unfortunately couldn't go into as it was occupied), the Agatha Christie Suite (which we got to tour--it was absolutely gorgeous and very spacious), the hallways with pictures of famous guests, as well as the 1902 Restaurant. I highly recommend taking the tour while you are there. We were so impressed with the 1902 Restaurant that we ate there that evening. The grounds are lovely, as is the pool area. Since our stay was so short though, we really didn't have a chance to enjoy either of them. Maybe next time!!

The most beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location with stunning views. Our room which was in the new building was huge with breathtaking views of the Nile and the original Old Cataract building. We had a tour of Agatha Christie’s suite (unfortunately we were unable to see Winston’s suite as it was being cleaned) which was given by the lovely Marina. All the staff have been super friendly and it has been an absolute pleasure to stay here. I hope to return to this wonderful hotel in the future.

Superb Afternoon Tea & Tour at the Old Cataract Hotel, Aswan, worth every penny!

We went to the Old Cataract for afternoon tea whilst on a Nile Cruise, it was absolutely superb. Our group sat outside on the upper deck with a lovely view over the gardens and river and enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea of the best savouries, decadent cakes and fresh fruit, money can buy. The waiters were courteous and discrete and we were given plenty of time to enjoy this special occasion. The building is stunning, so much so that you couldn't stop saying WOW as you went from room to room. Our guide Elijah (Classic Holidays/Orbital Travel) arranged for us to see King Faruks and Winston Churchill's suite which was splendid in its attire and it's wonderful view over the gardens and river, especially at night. We felt we were treated like royalty, it's a very special place, steeped in history and worth every penny. Fantastic experience, one you shouldn't miss!

Our tour guide Marvel took us through the scenic views of the Old Cataract including the Agatha Christie room with some of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen. We visited the 1902 restaurant and were educated on the historical significance of every nook and cranny possible in this beautiful location.
