This hotel has a convenient location close to the railway station and tram stops. Rooms are rather small, but comfortable and practical. Nice breakfast and polite personnel. Good wifi. Would definitely stay again on another short business trip.

Room was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff were friendly. Very close to the train station so a super convenient location for catching a train. The old city and points of interest aren’t far (walking, biking, or the bus). There’s good food and coffee options close by. A lot of reviews complained that the area is unsafe but as a solo female traveler I didn’t feel this at all. I walked back at night alone and felt never felt unsafe. Perfect for a short stay.

This is a fairly solid option and definitely good for the budget! Bed was comfortable and room was clean - really nothing to fault for a short weekend away. Any longer and rooms would definitely have been far too small but as an overnight stay, they were perfectly acceptable. Check-in and check-out process was a little slow and they seemed under-staffed as there was always some other job that the seemingly over-worked staff needed to run off and do whilst a queue was forming. Breakfast is expensive and the selection is poor as others have said. You can get better elsewhere but options are quite limited in the area on a Sunday and in the middle of winter so do your research on what you fancy before writing it off.

Small hotel. Not the best of the Ibis Styles chain. My room was freezing cold. After complaining I was given a different room which was much better. Breakfast is exceptionally poor. I don’t know how they have the cheek to charge €13.50 for it. It was basically cereal, a tiny bit of ham and cheese and a very limited range of fruit. That’s it. On our first day, there were no eggs but these were present on days 2 and 3. Bathroom was small but OK. I couldn’t find any English speaking channels on the TV. They serve alcoholic drinks in the lobby but you wouldn’t know that. It’s mentioned on a poster in the lift but nowhere else. The hotel is located in one of Luxembourg’s more seedy streets, but I accept that’s not their fault. Would choose somewhere else next time in Luxembourg. And, finally, one more issue that really annoyed me. When I booked on Expedia, I used a particular credit card to guarantee the booking. My intention was to pay using a different card at the hotel. A card which does not have the usual 3% exchange fee. I’ve always done this in over 30 years of travelling in Europe. When I asked about paying I was told they had already debited my card - which was not the one I wanted to use. Unfortunately, I was told, they could do nothing about this now. So, I ended up paying about £10 in foreign exchange fees. I know the moral of this story is to guarantee the booking with the card to be used to pay but this simply has n3ver happened before. I was not happy. Also, they debited my card before the final deadline for cancelling the rooms. That’s a bit naughty.

Everything but a good nights sleep.

I’ve just finished a 3 night stay at this hotel and whilst there were a few good aspects to this hotel, there is still a lot to be desired. I had booked this hotel before reading the trip advisor reviews. The street the hotel is on contains night and strip clubs and there are a lot of people milling around at all times during the day. As a solo female traveller the street initially started off as quite an intimidating place but there were no problems. Checking into the hotel itself was easy enough and there is free tea and coffee on tap. My room was marked as an inner courtyard ground floor room. This is just off the breakfast seating area in the hotel. Strangely this room has no windows except a glass door. This is not great as it lets very little light in. You can’t pull back the netting on the door as then those in the breakfast area can see you. You also can’t put the light on in the room without shutting the blackout curtain as again you will be seen. If you are looking for a peaceful nights sleep do NOT book this room. From about 10pm onwards people were coming back to the hotel and often they would then sit in the seating area to talk. You can hear all of their conversations and if you’re a light sleeper this will keep you awake. There’s also no chance of a lie in either. The coffee machine is adjacent to your wall and so when someone starts the machine at breakfast, which starts at 6.30am, you can hear that. Ultimately the point of a hotel is to get your head down for a decent nights sleep and whilst I can’t speak for the rest of the hotel the room I was staying in certainly didn’t offer that. That being said, the breakfast was good and the relative ease of getting to places from the hotel was good. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom albeit small was clean.
