Much improved from last visit

I've given this hotel a lot of criticism in previous reviews and rightly so. It wasn't providing a good experience. However, I'm pleased to say this latest stay was much improved. Key to this was the staff and that there was more of them. The service in reception, bar and restaurant was much improved. It is still work in progress and drinks orders still go astray but the staff are keen to provide good service and happily no longer dangerously overworked as on previous visits. Bars were open and operating, heating now working throughout, tables cleared and cleaned. I really hope this hotel has turned a corner and well done to the staff for recovering what was a complete mess before. I look forward to our next stay.

My daughter brought me the spa and afternoon tea package for my birthday so we went together. The hotel itself is nice. My daughter mentioned the toilets were dirty which wasn’t a great start. Whilst waiting outside the treatments room we could actually see fluff under the coffee table which must have been gathering for a long time which isn’t very impressive! The actual treatments we had were 20 mins back massage, 20 mins facial and 10 mins foot massage which were very very good, I wished it had lasted longer. We used the swimming pool and jacuzzi, the pool was a bit fresh went we went in but was nice and quiet. I don’t think the jacuzzi was working though as had no bubbles and no button to press it on. The showers are a lot to be desired, in dire need of a good clean and such tiny cubicles. Very dated. The afternoon tea was ok, BUT the cheese sandwiches we had was just awful, the cheese looked like it had been left unwrapped for days, we both couldn’t finish the mouthful, not good enough, very cheap ham used too but scones and pot of tea was nice.

Cannot fault the hotel and the spa facilities, the motorsport bar is good with a nice selection of gins Our room was lovely , it was immaculate. Comfy super king sized bed and the bathroom was nice too Definitely be back. The only thing that lets it down is the restaurant, the choice is very basic on the menu but the breakfast was good

Booked the spa and afternoon tea for my best friend’s birthday and we both had a lovely relaxing day with treatments and us of the spa facilities and a lovely afternoon tea. The staff in the spa where lovely and the treatments where fantastic the afternoon tea was very nice to finish of the day

Amazing room, so spacious, extremely clean , bathroom very big., toiletries in the room , nice fluffy towels , cozy bed and pillows , . Food was very good , nice choice , pleasant and helpful staff, breakfast selection good , Reception Staff very professional and smiley,
