Good breakfast - tired beds!

Been using this Ibis for many years for stop offs & weekends in St Omer. The breakfasts are very good value as always. But rooms (& beds in particular) getting a bit past it. On arrival I noticed our bed had a mattress topper - soon found out why! Even so, bed was hard & sagging in middle. It seems these days this budget Ibis hotel is near full occupancy - due to large group bookings by French police dealing with migrants. They keep themselves to themselves & are not as friendly as your average guest. Slightly alarming too, to see armed personnel congregating in your leisure hotel of a morning! That said - they have to be billeted somewhere & no doubt it’s very profitable for Ibis - but maybe Ibis should invest a little of that profit on replacing the mattresses more often!

Bonne literie et bon emplacement, en revanche le lavabo non isolé dans une chambre 3 personnes ne permet pas d'intimité. Je n'ai pas apprécié cette partie. Le petit déjeuner n'est pas en corrélation avec le prix. Mis a part cela, l'hôtel est bien placé.

Réserver deux chambres, une pour un adulte et une pour un adulte avec un enfant de 6 ans, de retrouver dans des chambres fumeurs, le découvrir par hasard. Ne se voir proposer aucune offre face à ce désagrément. Il est absolument honteux de donner à des familles avec jeune enfant des chambres dans lesquelles on a fumé. Quel manque de réflexion ! 75€ pour du ibis budget vétuste, à la propreté douteuse ! C’est le pompon !

Ideal family overnight for a noon Calais - Dover ferry

If you've got a noon sailing back from Calais - Dover then I'd recommend staying here the night before. It is just a 35-minute straightforward drive to the port. We found the hotel to be quiet, the staff friendly and speak good english, and the breakfast was more than adequate. We had a 4-person family room which was clean. It is a short walk to a cluster of eateries, including a Buffolo Grill and a McDonalds (convenient, as we arrived after 9pm). The area feels safe, and there's ample parking to the rear of the hotel. Yes, the hotel is a little tired - but for an overnight stop for a family of four, I'd certainly come again. From the number of UK numberplates in the carpark, we are not alone.

Cheap, stinks of cigarette smoke

As Ibis Budgets go, I've seen better. Yes it's cheap(ish) - 84.00euro for 1 night plus breakfast for 2 adults & a child! Rooms are tired looking. Handwash area & shower are IN the room, toilet in a separate tiny room. Other Ibis Budgets have a completely separate bathroom plus a bath, which is better. The biggest issue I had with this Ibis budget was the SMELL!!! Note there are smoking and non-smoking rooms (so if you're coming from the UK like us and assumed everywhere is non smoking as it is in the UK, think again), so when we had to be asked to be changed rooms to a non-smoking one (image putting 2 adults and a teen in a smelly smoking room!), they obliged and we moved. Room smelt fine BUT THE FLOOR (both 1st and 2nd floor) STANK of cigarettes. It is frankly ridiculous in 2022 that this is the case in any hotel. Or at the very least have one complete floor which is smoke free, and then the coridoors won't smell. Disappointed. Breakfast was average.

Dear sir sorry that you had a problem with your room. note that we just have 15 smoking rooms on a total of 76 rooms. All the other corridors are non smoking. Now it is unfortunately possible that one guest smoke even if it is non smoking... Do not hesitate to precise it next time. Best regards
