Absolutely DO NOT stay here. The TV is old school and not smart (actually, I think it is smart but the hotel hasn't connected it to the internet). This means you cannot cast to the TV or watch content like Netflix etc from any mobile device. I was told by the staff I would need to have my own HDMI cord and laptop to watch movies. They do not even supply HDMI cables. Parking is a ridiculous extra $38 per day. There is no self-park option at the hotel. The amount of the fee is not mentioned anywhere on their website (be sure to read reviews - yes plural - here about damage to cars). Rooms are TINY. There is barely enough space to move about the bed and the bathroom is so small it is hardly functional. If you are a large person or slightly claustrophobic, you will most definitely be better off staying elsewhere. The room didn't even offer a suitcase rack or a comfortable chair. The shower is so small there is hardly room to turn around. Again, if you are a larger person, you might have more issues. There is no shampoo or conditioner provided, no hook to hang a washcloth, and no safety non-slip mat. The temperature of the water in the shower is not consistent. It often went to scalding hot very quickly. And, then to very cold. Since the shower is so small, there is no possible way to step out of the water stream. This was my first and last stay at an Ibis hotel.

Since the refurbishment after it was a MIQ (Covid isolation) hotel I have always stayed in the Ibis when I am in Hamilton 3 or 4 times a year. It is a perfect location beside the Waikato River in the city. I eat my breakfast sitting on the deck overlooking the river and trees which is a great way to start the day. Breakfast (hot buffet and cold continental) is very good with everything I could want to choose from (scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms, sausages, tomatoes and hash browns as well as fruit salad, yoghurt, cereals, coffee and teas). At the reception on the first floor there is a bar where food and drinks can be ordered throughout the day, and a lounge area and the deck to sit in. My room this time was on the 7th floor with a great view over the river and the city. The room is has everything I need for a great nights sleep. Comfortable beds, pillows and good bed linen. There is a desk and chair for working at and gazing out over the river! There is tea and coffee making facilities in the room along with bottled water. An iron and ironing board is included which is handy for me. The bathroom has a good shower and good towels and a hair dryer. Finally I always find the staff very welcoming and seem to remember me! I will keep coming back here.

Arrived early evening, received a nice welcome with room upgrade to 7th floor with nice river view. Enjoyed the breakfast both mornings, was plenty of choices all very good & fresh. Also had dinner which was great. Valet parking was reasonable cost & made parking nice and easy. The staff are all very friendly and make your stay enjoyable. We have stayed at a number of Ibis hotels in many countries and overall this would be the best. Well done Ibis Hamilton Tainui, certainly recommend staying at this hotel.

Modern hotel in the centre of Hamilton, located by the river. Great place to explore Waikato river, taking the path below the hotel and crossing one of the bridges to make the loop back. Walking distance to many restaurants. No free parking near the hotel. Valet parking is $38 per day. Room was clean and comfortable.

O único ponto fraco do hotel é não ter internet gratuita nos quartos. Apesar do Ingles dos Neo Zelandeses ser muito dificil não tive problema na recepção, o pessoal foi muito prestativo. Ponto negativo desta pesquisa é ter que escrever uma avaliação com mais de 200 caracteres.
