Good city centre hotel, close to the railway station, and the historic centre of Rennes was only about a 10 minute walk so a perfect place for a 2 night stopover. The staff were so welcoming and helpful throughout my stay, printing out maps and highlighting all the key attractions etc. Overall my Executive Double room was nice - spacious, clean and modern, and the bathroom was good. But what was with the horrible scratchy nylon bedlinen? And the waterproof mattress protector made me sweat. But there was free and fast WiFi and a nice lounge and bar area just behind reception.

We booked this Novotel due to the closeness of the railway station and an easy walk on flat ground. The rooms are very good although I was a bit bemused by our room safe not bolted in. Also we arrived on a Sunday and intended to have a light dinner in the hotel but their restaurant is not open on Sunday and the check in staff, staff the bar. Which was a little expensive I felt. This did make us visit one of the excellent local bars. And other around it were all very reasonably priced with lots of local produce and wine/beer. The bikes you can hire are a 300 euro(each) deposit but the bikes are free to use. I found the deposit to be exhorbitant where other places charge 50-100 euro. The pool and spa is great, and you book at reception. A good stay.

Spent 2 nights there in a standard double room. It was larger than expected, clean and modern. The bed was wide and comfortable. Good selection of pillows too. Toilets were separate from the bathroom, which was a bonus. TV a bit small and far from the bed so not easy to watch. On the top floor overlooking a main street but it was quiet. Breakfast was tasty and varied. Coffee a bit weak. Check-in and out easy and fast. We wanted wine on Sunday evening but the bar was closed and one of the guys at reception offered to pour us glasses, which was nice. 2mn walk from Rennes train station / metro and bus. A fair few restaurants around and shopping centres nearby. Historic centre is only about 10mn walk. Didn't use the spa or pool so can't comment but they both looked attractive and welcoming. Few minus points: no milk in the room, only a few sachets of instant coffee. Air con a bit troublesome so hot in room but could open the two large windows so no biggie.

The Hotel is well located near the Train station as well as the downtown. Rooms are relatively good in size. The breakfast was not good at all & it is not worth the value. The service during during breakfast was very bad add to it that the breakfast space is too small for the hotel size.

Don't come here for the spa

We booked this hotel because it was central and had a spa. The positives are a great location and really good breakfast offering. The negatives are a spa which had no steam room a tiny pool and no sauna. Also the bar at the hotel is closed after 10pm so don't bank on having a drink here. If you are happy not to use the spa part then go for it!
