Disappointing experience. Do not recommend.

I went to the Spa earlier this week with friends as a birthday treat and was really disappointed. When we arrived they told us they’d got the timings wrong with our massages - we all booked to have them the same time - 1:30pm, followed by afternoon tea at 3pm. They said one of us had to have the treatment at 2:30pm, and the other two of us at 3:30pm which meant for 2hours of our day we were split up - We don’t see each other very much so this was annoying. We got shown to the pool area and changing rooms which were disgusting and in need of a good clean. The dressing gowns they gave us had stains on and we had to ask to change one of them it was so bad. The floor around the pool area was also disgusting, and the pool water was cold. The hot tub, steam room and sauna were all working well but the steam room was a bit grotty. The whole place needs a big refurbishment to be honest! It doesn’t look as nice as photos advertised on their website. The afternoon tea was very basic - nothing special - Sandwiches and cakes were not nice at all, but the tea and scones were okay. We were told to wait in a “relaxation room” until they were ready to give us massages - they failed to tell us they were running 20min late - we thought they’d forgotten about us in there - the room was embarrassing - very small and cramped, with just a plastic chair and a black couch that had mysterious stains all over it. No one had thought to top up the water in there for us and there were only 2 paper cups left out. Luckily the facials and massages were very nice and relaxing - although the oil used for scalp massage smelt bad and had to wash our hair after to get the smell off!! Overall a really disappointing visit!! Wouldn’t recommend anyone to go there and we certainly won’t be visiting again. So many other better spas out there!!

I've given this hotel a lot of criticism in previous reviews and rightly so. It wasn't providing a good experience. However, I'm pleased to say this latest stay was much improved. Key to this was the staff and that there was more of them. The service in reception, bar and restaurant was much improved. It is still work in progress and drinks orders still go astray but the staff are keen to provide good service and happily no longer dangerously overworked as on previous visits. Bars were open and operating, heating now working throughout, tables cleared and cleaned. I really hope this hotel has turned a corner and well done to the staff for recovering what was a complete mess before. I look forward to our next stay.

3 kamers geboekt, 2 waren OK, 3de kamer badkamer toch als vuil te beschouwen met ophoping van donkere smurrie onder de watertap en rond het overloopholte + er kwam amper warm water uit de warmwatertap. We dienden het bad te vullen met de sproeier. Dit werd daags nadien gemeld aan de deskmanager bij het verlaten van het hotel. De reden waarom dit pas 's morgens bij het vertrek werd gemeld is dat slecht laat (rond 01.00 's nachts) gebruik werd gemaakt van het bad. Voor de rest geen klachten, vriendelijk personeel etc.

Kamers niet schoon ,eten van de buren nog een dag en nacht op de gang. Kamer niet schoongemaakt na de 1e nacht dus ook geen schone handdoeken

Het hotel ligt in een mooie landelijke omgeving. Je kunt je aoto gratis parkeren. De lobby ziet er ruim en mooi uit. De receptioniste ontving ons zeer vriendelijk. We kregen een prachtige grote kamer als upgrade. Het restaurant is goed met heerlijk eten. Kortom een aanrader. Het enige nadeel zou kunnen zijn dat er geen lift is.
