Wonderful 3 days at Novotel Newcastle Beach. Praise for staff, Maddi Indi Fran ( and others) and the chefs from Bistro Dalby including Georgio and specially Lucas for his conversation re the Atlantic Salmon which was yum! My room was clean with just the right ocean view for me. Spa was perfect. Loved seeing the city pups coming for their puppacinos through the glass. Staff could not have guessed the happenings this site played in my life but they spirited them to happiness. Thank you gtsx

Dirty Rooms - Especially the Bathrooms

People were amazing and it was in an excellent location however, the cleanliness of both our rooms was extremely dissatisfying. Mould in both showers, dead cockroaches on both balconies which remained there all weekend, even after the daily clean. Dirt marks on walls of bathrooms especially around the toilet area. Very dusty. Rooms were wiped over but never actually cleaned. Very disappointed.

A clean and modern feel, the rooms were an awesome size. My bed was really comfy and the layout of the room worked really well. I also enjoyed the bathroom which had a really awesome shower. Reception were really awesome and helpful, which was a nice welcome after some delayed flights. My only concern was that while I was ironing my clothes for the next day, there must have been an electrical fault and the iron shot out some sparks and caused my TV to shut down. I called to let reception know and they delay with the situation promptly. Overall a great stay with a minor hiccup that was quickly resolved.

How did I miss this Novotel before? I’ve spent stays at many Novotels over the years and Newcastle Beach is to the brand’s customary high standard. Because of it’s position close to the beach ‘smart,casual’ is the order of the day. I was welcomed by friendly reception staff and later enjoyed a beautifully presented meal at the Bistro. There is a large basement carpark and the room was well-equipped and presented to the high Novotel standard. It was a real pleasure to stay here.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone We had a family room for a special Birthday for my sister and her daughter 1 only had 2 towels 2 only had 2 gowns No slippers The room was a disabled room With no view Can you imagine how we felt as we were celebrating a 70th birthday Breakfast 5 people in the room including us Ordered eggs Half hour later asked when they would arrive Told chef had gone out Would be back shortly In the meantime all our finished crockery was piling up on our table There were 2 waitresses and 5 guests in the room Back to the room Our tea cups had not been washed Or replaced Absolutely disgusting to say nothing about health safety Also did not replace teabags or sugar Next Hairdryer did not work Another call to reception That’s all we were doing Ringing reception with all the faults of this place We paid top dollar for this place It was like faulty towers Novotel you really need a total makeover accomodation and staff Take the criticising and do something about it You have a great position and that’s about all From a hotelier myself 1 Star That’s all it’s worth
