Nice view and bar but dated hotel and awful breakfast

Stayed for 4 nights in February and paid extra for a lake view King room. The view from both the bar and the room were absolutely stunning. It was a joy to wake up to that view! The bar selection and staff were great and it was an enjoyable space to spend some time before and after dinner. That is where the positives end unfortunatley. The hotel looks to have been removated on a tight budget. For a premium room the shower was small and had very low pressure. We were hoping to enjoy the leisure facilities in this 'resort' hotel - unfortunatley the outdoor swimming pool was unheated, and even in the summer was too cold, we didn't see anyone using it. One jacczzi was out of action, so guests had to take it in turns to use the functional one. The sauna is located at the other end of the hotel to the pool area, which makes no sense. The achilles heel of the hotel is the breakfast. We knew the hotel is a good walk from the town centre, so we prepaid breakfast for our trip which was an unfortunate mistake for us. This breakfast was the worst breakfast offerring I have ever seen in any hotel. The breakfast room was filthy each day with crumbs and debris all over the tables and carpet. The quality of the hot food, coffee and juice was exremely budget and unpleasant. There was no fruit except for fruit salad and peaches from a tin. No yoghurts. For the four mornings we were there the same inedible scraps of cheese were on display. At least they had some pastries that they had heated up....oh wait!...on our last morning they had none of those either! Overall this hotel was not good value for money and I will not return.

Average but reasonable for a 1 or 2 day get away

Just out of the town, but a 30 minute walk into town, which is lovely with the views, the walk back is a little tough as it’s uphill. Good parking but I would imagine it can get exceptionally busy in the busy months. The hotel reception area was clean and modern, gorgeous views of the lake, a definite must if your staying here Rooms were clean tidy, and on the whole were nice, but you can see from the carpet that it does need a modernisation, the windows were still single glazed, so glade I’m not here in the winter months. Shower had a good flow of water but no pressure, beds were comfy. For the $$, you really are paying for the fact this place is in Queenstown, would expect more modern facilities for the price. Because you are out of town, there is not much around, so for food and drinks, it’s either the hotel or the walk, bus or drive into town. But if your want to visit Queenstown, its not a bad place to park yourself for a night or two, the views are stunning.

Fantastic views but old and tired hotel

The views from the lake view rooms are amazing, but the entire hotel could really do with a massive refurbishment. The corridors are old and smelly, the elevators are dingy, and the rooms, while clean, feel ancient. There are no modern amenities (USB ports, universal power sockets, light controls by the bed, etc). The lighting is also very harsh, old, bright white tube lighting - not what you want in a hotel room. The shower is also tiny and the bath towels provided are sized for small children, not adults. All the staff we interacted with were very pleasant and went out of their way to help, but unfortunately for $500+ per night, I can't recommend this hotel.

Het hotel ligt in Fernhill, met een steile klim, net buiten de stadskern. Je bent echter slechts 500 m van de beach ! Op het moment dat wij er waren (begin dec.) waren er aan hoofdweg thv de beach wegenwerken, reeds vanaf de vroege morgen. Door de ligging van het hotel hadden wij geen last van de werken én hadden we steeds parkeergelegenheid !
