We are regular visitors and have noticed a decline in standards over the last 12 months. The second lift has been out of action for more than six months. That is unacceptable. The carpet in the working lift is grubby. As a platinum member the room upgrade is the same room on a higher floor. If we request an accessible room we effectively get downgraded as they are only available in the standard rooms. Walk in showers are more sensible and newer hotels have replaced bats with showers.

We really enjoy staying at Ellerslie Novotel, nice queen sized beds, love the breakfast, the restaurant for dinner is delicious too. We stayed over easter and they had Easter decor and fun for the kids, very flash Easter buffet treats at breakfast where you could even design your own Easter cookie. We have stayed here about 6 times in the last 6 months and we keep having the same problem, we request a baby cot in the booking details, but only 1 time has there ever been one waiting for us, we always arrive at night and need it right away. Then it's usually a 30min wait to get one delivered (probably due to night shift and not many staff around) . One time I even rung ahead to make sure it was in the room, and I was told that it was in the booking request so it should be in the room, and again it wasn't. Our last stay we all wanted to go to bed and after 40mins of waiting my husband had to follow up again. If this repeated issue could be fixed, it would be a perfect stay. The staff are apologetic and kind, but it's getting frustrating.
