We dropped in to get our souvenirs. Well worth a wander. You need to book for high tea, so we settled for the Singapore cafe and shared some delicious cakes and kopi. It is a lovely grand place, with modern buildings now its backdrop. The coffee shop staff were friendly and helpful.

Kathryn6 Couples - TripAdvisor review

Fulfilled a long held ambition by spending a couple of nights in this iconic hotel. Checking in was straight forward & carried out in our suite , The room was spacious with a luxurious bathroom . Very comfortable bed. We had a large balcony area overlooking a tree lined courtyard. Breakfast service was patchy. Had to chase up my husband’s grapefruit juice & fresh cutlery wasn’t supplied for my second course so had to reuse the originals Got back to the hotel around 8.45pm & asked which hotel restaurants were open . Reception advised we would have to go back outside & walk along the pavement to access The Courtyard restaurant. Really didn’t feel like having to go back out on the street so we settled for some bar snacks in the Writer’s bar. The same directions were given when we wanted to go for a drink at the Long Bar - at our pre booked table. On our last morning we wandered round the grounds & found that both the above mentioned facilities could be accessed from within the hotel . Why would a hotel of this stature send its residents out onto the street when they could remain within the confines of the hotel ?? Loved the Pool area & bar. Clarence treated us like royalty. We had an issue with 2 young girls filming & photographing us incessantly, there were also young children present in the pool. We brought it to Clarence’s attention & a manager promptly appeared & persuaded the young ladies to refrain from filming the guests. I did get the feeling that the building is as much of a tourist attraction as a hotel but our stay didn’t disappoint.

Afternoon tea at Raffles.

We first visited the long bar and had a drink. It is worth visiting but isn’t what I expected. It is not ornate and didn’t feel that old.The whole hotel is beautifully preserved outside and inside. We had our tea in the grand lobby which looked very grand. We were sat backing on to the writers bar which wasn’t a great table for 2 reasons:firstly we did get forgotten about rather and secondly the music from there was clashing with the music from the lobby.I would recommend trying to get a table more centrally. The head waiter was very nice .The food was delicious and very generous in how much they give you (3 scones each plus sandwiches and a lot of cakes)We really enjoyed the tea and were thrilled to be there.

One of the best hotels I have stayed at!

A great hotel, definitely worth the price and the experience. The attention to detail is second to none, everything is thought for you prior to even thinking it is needed. The service is amazing, loved the Butler service, and the turn down service each day. The food was amazing, the accommodation was amazing and I will definitely return the next time I didn’t Singapore

wonderfully calming and enjoyable from start to finish

Amazing place that lived up to our very high expectations and hopes. Starting with The breakfast...wow.... as good as anything I've experienced anywhere in the world and give had some great ones btw. The outside arrivals and reception bellboys are first class (especially Vikram) in their colourful custom regalia. The spa is a great way to start the day after a long trip from the UK and Japan, Enjoy the compulsory "Singapore sling" in the Long Bar. PS don't forget to decorate the floor with some peanut shells, and what better way to finish the evening than a cocktail or Macallan whisky in the writers bar..." We cant wait to come back for an extended stay...3 days went all too quickly. First class well done.
