Water from the shower run out in the room so you had to mop up the water. Breakfast price was too high if you wanted to just have a small breakfast. We went and found a small cafe and had breakfast there.

Nice hotel, terrible bar service

The Pullman is a conveniently located, well appointed, modern Melbourne hotel. Rooms are stylishly decorated, the bed is comfortable minibar well stocked and the bathroom and amenities are decent. What there is absolutely no excuse for for a hotel of this calibre however is the woefully amateurish, comically incompetent service at the lobby bar. We ordered a couple of drinks and a hummus appetiser from the bar to be delivered to our table. They forgot about one of the drinks and had to be reminded. That’s fine it happens. But then the hummus never showed up. After a reminder it showed up With no bread or crackers. We asked the waitress who dropped the hummus off at our table and she said you’d have to order that it’s extra and then walked away. Now there are people who are rude to hospitality workers and ask and behave with indignation that is not acceptable way of behaving with relatively low paid hard-working staff. Those people deserve that kind of response. But that was not us…we asked nicely with a big smiles and she dismissed us and walked away. Then we decided we can’t have the hummus without anything to scoop it up so we went to the bar and ordered the bread and paid extra. And waited. The bread never showed up. After 20 minutes we went back to the bar and they said will check. The bread finally showed up. The hummus was good the bread was good the service inexcusably terrible. And not becoming of a chain like Accor.

We’re regular guests, we love Stu in the exec lounge and he’s a large part of why we keep coming back. Our only disappointment on this visit was that we didn’t have a lounge chair in our exec room (that was a surprise and unusual) and that we didn’t have time to hang in the exec lounge like we usually would when we visit
