Very compact but suitably comfortable little room, right in the cultural richness of Whitechapel - extremely convenient for tube/train/bus, so many restaurants, and right on the edge of the City of London with all the attractions there. The room's not the smallest I've ever stayed in, but at 4 nights I'm glad I was (unusually) travelling solo - it would have been cramped with a partner. The compact shower was acceptable, although requiring a little finesse to get the right temperature. Breakfast was supplemental to the room rate, but was a well presented & stocked cold buffet, and on-demand pancake dispensing machine - both enjoyed each morning with a satisfactorily long service window. The hotel itself is directly on Whitechapel Road, almost adjacent to a large hospital & trauma centre; if one is not accustomed to the noises of a major city this may make sleep difficult, but this is also to be expected for a hotel this conveniently located.

Good service , clean hotel and good breakfast . It’s a budget hotel so don’t expect luxury . It’s basic , clean and good value for London . I would recommend.

Musty smell

Room, and specifically the shower had a distinctly musty smell which was not appealing to say the least. Also when I used the shower, the door kept becoming slightly ajar so water ended up all over the floor of the room. I understand it’s a budget offering, but I expected it to be a bit better than what I got.

Well located for The Royal London Hospital

We needed a hotel close to the hospital and the Ibis certainly satisfied that requirement. You get exactly what you expect - a simple hotel for basic prices. It was a pity that when we cut short our stay by one day due to things going better than expected, the final day couldn't be refunded. That seemed a bit mean.
