Basic hotel with no empathy

Arrived at the hotel upon check in and explained that my husbands father had passed away and that we couldn't stay a second night. We were on a "pay at the hotel deal" with free cancellation. The hotel said that we would have to put our request in writing through Agodo. They took the full amount of money for our trip and when we contacted Agodo they referred us back to the hotel. Not a very good experience. Hotel is very basic. We only stayed in our room for a couple of hours, can't comment on the breakfast as we could not stay to fulfil our trip. Not very accommodating!!!

Great location . Near railway station , city centre , palace theatre . Local pubs and restaurants ! Great for shopping , walking distance to town and Christmas markets . Great service, lovely breakfast , competitive prices . Nice clean rooms .

Let down by dirty public areas.

Public areas are dirty. Food left on tables in cafe don't make a good impression as you arrive. The lifts were awful. Drinks and cups spilt on floor, down right disgusting. Room .ok. but stuffy. Paper cups for coffee and tea might just about last a couple of drinks if you manage not to squash it. Clean enough room and shower.

Terrible customer service. I was given a room with used bedding, used towels all over the floor and somebody's personal items on the unmade bed. I was then charged 3 times more than the correct price for items bought from the downstairs receptionist.
