The hotel is next to the West Lake, with a good geographical location and convenient transportation, and it is convenient to go anywhere. This time I was traveling with my friends and visiting Hangzhou. My friends and I liked this hotel very much and were very satisfied! After entering the hotel, the formalities at the front desk are very professional, the speed is very fast, and the service attitude is very good. Most importantly, the guest relationship Jessica who received us left a deep and beautiful impression on me. She provided very warm and thoughtful service, which made me feel very warm! The room given to us is also very good and spacious, which is a wonderful stay experience.

The hotel's proximity to several shopping malls, approximately a 10-minute walk away, further enhanced the overall appeal. It provided a perfect blend of tranquility by the lake and the vibrant energy of nearby shopping districts. While the room may have shown signs of aging, its spaciousness more than made up for it. The comfortable and well-appointed accommodations offered a relaxing retreat after a day of exploration. The staff at Sofitel Westlake Hangzhou were a standout feature of my experience. Their warmth, friendliness, and genuine helpfulness created a welcoming atmosphere throughout my stay. From the front desk to the housekeeping staff, everyone contributed to making my time at the hotel memorable. One of the highlights of my stay was the sumptuous breakfast spread. The variety and quality of the offerings exceeded my expectations, ensuring a delightful start to each day. It was a true culinary treat that catered to different tastes and preferences. Very nice hotel with friendly staff! Me and my daughter stayed for more than a fortnight and the staff learned to recognise us very quickly. They were always very forthcoming at the breakfast buffet, bringing us tea and trying to satisfy my craving for salted duck eggs, century eggs, peanuts and what not. But the best was the cleaning lady Sun Jing 孙静, so nice, open, friendly and helpful! I hope she will still be there when I stay the next time! I definitely would stay at Sofitel Westlake again, it is in the center of Hangzhou Westlake area. So the Rotary meeting I wanted to attend was right there! And the Liangzhu project with a lot of artists from all over the world which my friend attended also had their Hangzhou lunch at the hotel’s lunch buffet. I heard their dinner buffet is good as well. My friends who live close by often go there to eat. We also had à la carte dinner in a chambre separèe which presented exquisite food. The only negative thing is that they don’t seem to have a lot of environmental awareness yet, so I think they might have changed our towels every day, despite our not letting them be on the floor. Also the central heating was a bit too high, and very loud, until I figured out that it could be turned off … My warmest recommendations for Sofitel Westlake. You can’t find a better location in Hangzhou!

Hotel a bit dated, but impeccable service! 1. Room spacious n comfortable, although cannot control room temp (winter mode?) Felt too hot at times. 2. Excellent location by the West Lake 3. Very nice, efficient and attentive staff in every function - Front desk - Tina who checked us in was super efficient, courteous and organised Concierge - Anthony and team always helpful, and attentive Lounge bar, and room service- very nice and prompt service too. He remembered our previous night's drinks! Breakfast - great and very wide choices of tasty Western n Chinese food, staff were all good and attentive, including the trainees. The staff just made us feel at home!

The staff are amazing. The hotel is a little bit tired and needs a refurbishment, but the cleanliness and staff more than make up for this, many of them cannot speak English (and nor should they we are in their country), but they really try and help. We had no problem with communication. The bar was open late so we could return from work and discuss even when we were the only people there. In particular Sandy in the executive lounge was amazing. She remembered us from 6 years ago and went out of her way to look after us. Thank you Sofitel great experience.
