I came to Ho Chi Minh City when the weather was really hot so I decided to go to a random hotel that came into my sight when I was walking around the city to use their swimming pool service and I chose to step into Sofitel. It was really surprise that their swimming pool is located on the rooftop (I didn't expect that), the view is stunning and they also serve food and drinks, omg I was so hungry at that time. What I really enjoyed was that the staff were extremely friendly, they took the time to chat patiently and suggest food and drinks for me. Luckily I found out their names are Thong, Binh and Huong (I hope I spelled the letters correctly), thanks guys for making my vacation more complete and memorable.

Had a walk around the city and decided to drop by at Sofitel, then i saw this bar called B or Boudor. This place is nice but alittle cold, they have variety of food and drinks. Shout out to Harry and Thuy for their good service to me and others guests, staffs here are very friendly too. 谢谢

Worst Sofitel in world!

This was the first Sofitel I have stayed that has not honored my Gold Accor membership benefits apart from “thank you for your loyalty” and a drink voucher. No explanation given. This hotel seems to survive on large bus/cruise groups who are given priority over other guests. My room was smallest I have ever had in a 5 star hotel in Asia. Being on a low floor, the noise from the road meant you couldn’t sleep, the shower didn’t drain, the bedside light console didn’t work, the toilet seat was broken 🤷‍♂️ I had a paid late checkout but couldn’t even get a dry towel for a shower before leaving - the room hadn’t been cleaned. The staff at reception are robotic and disinterested in you as a customer. Breakfast is a joke. To deal with the large groups the tables in Mezze are squished together, some less than six inches from next table - see photo. While the breakfast selection is good. It is a crowded free for all. In the bar people were complaining about how long drink orders would take to arrive. On every level this is worst Sofitel that I have stayed anywhere in the world. It is at best the equivalent standard of a Novotel. I won’t be renewing my Accor membership if loyalty means nothing. Perhaps this hotel could benefit from a new general manager or at least a recognition of loyal Accor members. The worst of any hotel I have stayed.

The hospitality is the first thing you remember and that feeling remains with you for the entire stay. Our suite was stunning, the pool area has a great atmosphere. My wife is a coeliac (gluten free dining) and the hotel staff ensured that she was looked after.

We stayed here for two nights. When we arrived at 1 PM the room was not ready and after after the official check in time of 2 PM we still had to wait for 15 minutes. Just the standard excuse : "the hotel is full and although a room is ready but we want to give you a nicer room". The restaurants have very little choice for vegetarians, for dinner. Breakfast was sumptuous with plenty of vegetarian items. Rooms are well furnished and clean. The house keeping staff coming around in the evening offering towels, bottled water etc is much appreciated. The hotel's location is a big plus. There are a few good restaurants within walking distance , once you learn how to negotiate the Saigon traffic. I would definitely stay again.
