After reading a couple of the reviews where cars had been broken in I was a little concerned. However , on arrival I was impressed with floodlights on parking area! Clearly been improved Hotel was perfect for one night. Very clean and good breskfasy

This is a great budget hotel even though it's not budget! The rooms are just that little bit too basic. Kettle in the room would be nice, and a spruce up of the décor That aside, this hotel has a great hidden gem not to be expected for the price. The restaurant, yes its restaurant. The food was of great quality for the evening meal, perhaps portions a little too big. Still the quality and price, made it extremely great value. Should the rooms match the quality of the rooms you could push it to a five for the price they charge. Well worth the stop over

Stayed on a Saturday evening in July. Nice room, good shower - exactly what you need when breaking a long journey. Dinner and breakfast both very good - staff excellent. Don't understand some of the comments - we would look forward to staying again.

Not a safe place to stop over

Like many of the other guests we had used the hotel as a stop over on our way to the tunnel. We were travelling across France from our home is Spain and the car was quite loaded. We just took in a carry on bag as we couldn't possibly haul everything up 2 flights of stairs (no lift) just for a quick stopover. We were woken at 1 a.m. by the manager and police who told us our vehicle had been broken into. We rushed outside and discovered the side window had been smashed, the thieves had reached through opened the door then climbed through and over the back seats. All our luggage and some personal belongings were gone. The windows are darkened so they couldn't see in I guess they were just hoping to hit lucky. Most of the other cars were similarly laden but luckily for them our alarm meant the thieves didn't have time to try any more. I asked the policeman if it was a bad area and he assured me it wasn't usually but since the lights in the carpark weren't working and there was no security it was an easy target. I asked why the lights weren't working and he shrugged and said simply 'money'. The hotel saving a few euros on light bulbs had cost us dearly. We had parked under a light but in broad daylight so had no way of knowing it was out. The police were wonderful, they spent an hour going through everything with us and were kind and compassionate. They asked us to report to the local police station at 8 the next morning. Their attitude was totally opposite to the hotel staff who clearly didn't care at all. I can only assume they are used to this situation. We walked back into the hotel at 2 a.m. obviously upset at losing our personal belonging and of course the damage to the car. The night manager said nothing. Not a trace of apology, sympathy or common compassion. No offer of a coffee, drink or even a glass of water. Totally disinterested. We asked for (and received ) a bin liner and some tape and did a basic repair job to cover the gaping hole. In the interest of fairness the manager saw us struggling and did come out and hold the tape. At first light we went out and searched the surrounding area but found nothing. At check out again nothing was said. We paid the bill in full including being charged for the 'complimentary' drink we are supposed to receive as Silver members. It was only a couple of euros but just seemed to add insult to injury. It was a horrible experience.

Even if this is the first time we have this offence in our hotel we want to tell you that we are sorry for what happens to you. we would like to tell you that our colleague did his utmost as soon as he heard the alarm of your vehicle, he pursued the people, contacted the police and gave a complete description of the individuals. We apologize if our colleague was not at your bedside after this event but you can understand that it remains an unabitual event for everyone and everyone has his way of reacting Wishing you a good day and a positive end cordially Sincerely, Hotel IBIS Abbeville

Hotel clean,comfortable, slept very well. Breakfast good variety. Staff attentive. However, car park is not CCTV secure. Our Audi car was opened by fob and all our luggage stolen No help from staff or police.
