Was easy to get to, only stayed one night, only issue is the heating system was not able to cool the room, which led to us feeling stuffy, and hot. A little water was a nice touch, and the coffee station downstairs. Overall short stay and the breakfast actually had gluten free for my partner well done.

Consider this hotel for a short stay 2-3 days and if you are on low budget. Small rooms with family is absolutely no go.

I stayed at this hotel for almost a week. It was corporate booking, so I could not refuse. Rooms are very small, and after 2-3 days, you start feeling claustrophobic in such a small room. There are no amenities in the hotel. No gym, no pool, just one nice bar at reception. The breakfast place is good, but the variety of breakfast stays the same on all 7 days with just mild changes of brocoli to mushrooms to hasbrownies. Same cereals, bread options,.. one gets fed up, eating the same stuff again and again. Room has no lockers, no iron, no drawers, no table, no chair, no bathroom amenities but just colourful bright walls and a small place with stool to sit. Even windows don't open. Summers can be warm if AC temp is not set properly. The room was cleaned every day, but 1 bottle of water could not be left by housekeeping. Atleast as a basic water can be refilled in every room. Reception staff and restaurant staff were good and supportive. For overall service, it was good. With family and long stays, never opt this hotel. There are better options with almost the same price near the SBB station or marketplatz.

Ibis is a budget hotel chain but I was positively surprised when we stayed here. The room was spacious, well equipped, had a good quality bed as if we were staying at a 4 star hotel. Only the limited available services would tell that you are not at a mid-scale hotel.

Extremely friendly welcome and a wealth of information from the lovely receptionist when we checked in. Cheerful colourful decor, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Even though there is not an abundance of hot breakfast choices there is plenty to sustain you through to lunch with varied cereals and continental choices. Maybe some cut fresh fruit choices could be added such as berries. Initially we thought the location was a bit out of town but actually very close to a tram which you can use the wonderful Basel card on or a brisk 15/20mins walk to the train station. Thank you for a very pleasant stay 👍

Don’t stay here if you want to have air conditioning because you won’t be happy.

Air conditioning did not work so I requested a room change. They asked me to wait until the air conditioning could work to bring the room temperature down from 25c. After over 3 hours it did not work and same temperature of 25c. Demanding they give me a new room with air. Moved to another room on same floor and same issues so I gave up and was on top of the covers sweating all night. Don’t use this place is you like air conditioning!!
