We really enjoyed our stay here. The whole hotel is clean and very well looked after. I can imagine when it was first built it was amazing although it probably is nearing a refurb of sorts just to keep it upto date and nice. The activities are great and my little boy loved the kids club, the staff were very friendly there. I enjoyed the facilities in the gym and my parter played golf twice which he said was reasonably priced for 9 holes. You can tell the staff really care about their job and are so helpful. I think they need a gate to access the outside closer to the other end of the pool, we climbed over the fence which was low and your not supposed to but it saved a long walk to the main gate. Our room was clean, tidy and spacious with good air con. Unfortunately, the sea had jellyfish, so we didnt venture to the beach during the day only to eat at the restaurants in the evening. My little one lived the pool and all the things to do in it. They even had a little foam patty for the children which was lovely. Thanks Sofitel for a great stay, we will be back!

We stayed at this hotel for two weeks and we enjoyed our stay very much. From checking in to checking out the Sofitel team were amazing, and exceeded our expectations Our bedroom was very spacious, comfortable and overlooked the gardens and pool. We ate in the pool bar at lunchtime and had our evening meals in the White Lotus and Venezia restaurants. Breakfast was self service in the Maya restaurant. The food in all was excellent, but it was the fantastic hotel team that made the holiday, nothing was too much trouble. Special Thanks to, Golf, Sky, Sam and Kris in the pool bar, Ja and Meen in the Explorer Bar Peemai, Sumrak, Lynn and the lovely YaYa in the restaurants. Thank you all.

When we arrived earlier on APRIL, we we were greeted by friendly staff around & the decor around lobby area is so BEAUTIFUL 😍 And our room was nice with powerful aircon, bed is soft including the pillows too so it was nice to sleep in every nights. SO I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to THE POOL BAR MANAGER “PERMAI “ for her wonderful professional service & big smile 😊 at all times & she is just one of the kind person I ever met, SOFITEL MANAGEMENT should acknowledge this woman & her hard work that she put in and her wonderful teams (Sky, Sam, Na, Golf, Plamy & Kris ) as well. Overall with everything else was great & we relaxed the whole time by the pool area and friendly staff at all times. Was a fantastic trip.

I booked by Accor's homepage, stayed 7 nights. First, the beach is not swimmable. Lot of jellyfish makes it silly to even try, and I mean a lot, I saw hundreds on the beach. Also, the hotel don't provide any service or umbrellas at the beach The weather in Krabi is hot, at daytime, 36-39c. Thus a good Aircon is essential. The first room I got (room no. 350) was not cool enough. I could with help of the duty manager change to a room with good Aircon (room no. 150) the second day. Thus, don't expect all rooms to have good enough Aircon. Also after the duty manager gave me a new room, the front office was not able to give me the right key to the new room when I was going to move, instead they gave me same key as to the previous room, thus did let me hanging in the room, which is a bit from the reception (this is a big resort). After a somewhat irritated call from me, the front office then send a trainee, Niza, to my room, also now with the old key. But Niza took charge, did talk to the front office in the phone, then let me into the new room. Niza did also come back after 5 minutes with the right key. Niza was the only one who was competent in this situation. She likely has a bright future in this industry! As a gesture to me for the problem with bad Aircon and the troubled with the room change, the hotel provided a free drink, a cake and a fruit plate. Well, better than nothing! Of course, in a 5-star resort you expect excellent Aircon in every room and you also expect the details to work. They don't work at Sofitel Krabi. Because they don't work in so many areas, I regard it as a management problem. The property is not well enough run. In the adult pool area, people who need support to go down into the pool, don't have it. It would be easy for the resort to put up a rail near the bar, where there are steps in the water already to go down, but no rail to hold onto. During my stay I met a lady who recovered from a stroke, she would have been helped by a rail. The ladders which goes down into the pool, which of course have rail, are too steep for many people who have some kind of accessibility problems. One day I told the staff by the pool that the coconuts which hangs in the trees over the beach chairs in the adult pool area should be removed (they where not removed), but this should be handled by routine. Falling coconuts hurts and kills people every year and to have them hanging over beach chairs is not responsible. There are plenty of staff around the pool, especially by the family area. But many times, they miss to provide beach towels to the adult pool area. So you have to go looking for them quite far away (the pool is Thailand's longest). The gym temperature is not cool enough for work out and the changing room, anyway in the males area, is much worse than that. The staff is not always present in the gym, and sometimes when they are, they talk loud, which is disturbing. 2 times out of 7 the sauna was not switched on in the gym, so I had to look for a staff to do it. One day I told the gym staff that the body wash was finished, need to be refilled. Next day, still no body wash, so had to tell them again, now they did refill it. Vanity kit in the changing room in the gym is sometimes available, sometimes not. The showers in the gym are not effective, impossible to get any pressure in the hand shower due to failure in the shower mechanism. Also, one day hot water only came out from them, so had to go from the sauna without showering direct to the room shower. Not that pleasant. The breakfast is acceptable for a 5-star resort, but why no sparkling wine or champagne to the breakfast? Also no salmon or other salted fish, which could have made the breakfast more complete. The lack of consistency in the service is visible also in the breakfast area. Sometimes you get cloth napkins, sometimes not. Sometimes you not even get paper napkins, after they cleaned the table after the guest before with out providing new napkins. The price of drinks and food in the restaurants and bars are steep, for example: drinks Baht 450++ (usd 14) but the guests are well off, so no problem. There are several local restaurants 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel, where you can eat good local food for under Baht 200 Net, example fried rice with shrimps for 120 or fried rice with seafood for 180. The housekeeping sometimes replaced the facial towels, sometimes not, same with the vanity kit. The floor in the bathroom is too slippery. The hotel should provide a rubber bathroom mat, until next renovation and then make the floor less dangerous. One day the housekeeping entered the room when I was leaving for the pool, I then went out by the balcony, my room on the bottom floor. I told housekeeping to lock the balcony door after me. They also had to clean the balcony from cups and glasses. But they did anyway left the door unlocked. There is mosque outside one end of the resort, can be disturbing for people staying there. I did stay in the other end, but heard the sound from the mosque when visiting the gym. All in all, solid property, but failing in many details. You could do better.

The hotel is an outstanding resort to be at if you’re looking for a nice peaceful holiday. From the check-in to concierge services, everything’s great! The quality of food could use a little improvement but all-in-all, if you’re looking for a fuss free peaceful holiday away from the noise - this is the place to be. Al from the concierge and the entire concierge team is extremely helpful and kind! Bella at the front desk, Coline at the pool bar and our trip guide for the island tour, Fern, are all extremely hospitable and kind. Special thank you to Kris from the pool team who helped me find my AirPods! 😅 There’s a market less than a kilometers walk from the hotel with local restaurants which is perfect for dinner and a 7/11 close by which means there’s also unlimited munchies!
