If you're not an EU citizen or if there are non-EU citizens in your group, I highly recommend you to avoid this hotel because you will be asked to fill lengthy forms, which is not the case in other hotels.

This hotel is more like a Super 8. It is located in a business district with no restaurants within walking distance and there is a train that passes by a few blocks from the hotel that goes into town. After a long day of sightseeing and the darkness, it is unreasonable to have to find the train, pay the fare, find a restaurant and then get back to the hotel. The hotel does have a restaurant and our first dinner was included in the tour. Fourteen of us tried the dinner and the only thing eatable was the dessert. When asked the next day who wanted to reserve a table at the hotel restaurant for dinner, not one person in our group reserved. Now we are searching the internet for the closest restaurants in the area only to find out no taxi's will come so far out of town. We were there three miserable nights and ended up buying snacks during our tours and eating them in our room for dinner while we watch tv that all in French. Some of our tour companions were in rooms with no or broken tv, so I guess that was a bonus. We have stayed in quite a few Mercure hotels that were fine. Stay away from this one. We were traveling with SmarTours on the Heart of France tour. Several of us have complained to them about this hotel but it is once again offered on their 2023 tours.

We are sorry for you, but if you want to be refund by the travel agency, there is other way than discredit hotels and restaurants more than 6 months later. We are a four star hotel, we offer television in ALL our rooms, and there are ALL functional. we accept criticism, preferably well-founded, but not lies. Sincerely, Marion, front office manager

As part of the organization I volunteer with, Best Defense Foundation, we took a group of WWII veterans to Normandy for the 78th Commemoration of D-Day and stayed here. The staff of the Mercure was incredibly friendly, welcoming and attentive to our group’s every need. We were a large group, but they never made us feel like it was a daunting task to take excellent care of us! From the front desk, to housekeeping and breakfast in the lounge, each interaction was service with a smile. With sincere appreciation, we look forward to our next stay!

The hotel is a scam. By creating a presentable lobby, it has managed to pass itself as a Mercure, which gets a 4* rating in France. But the rooms, the corridor, and the bathroom is smelly, dilapidated, and is falling apart. Dirty, disgusting carpet in the room. Even touching door knobs makes you feel dirty. The corridor leading to the rooms is falling apart, paint chipping off the walls and broken doors and windows. The room is just dirty and cheap, more like a 1 star hotel. The bathroom was bearable, but still had an old toilet and the sink area was dirty. Downgrade this to Ibis Budget.

Dear Khodadadkavad, Thank you for taking the time to write to us following your stay. We are surprised by your remarks, which we find quite extremist. Our rooms and common areas are cleaned thoroughly every day by our housekeepers. They work hard to provide you absolute comfort and talking about unsanitary conditions and poor hygiene is irrelevant and disrespectful to their work. Perhaps this is a feeling in relation to the decoration, but it remains subjective. Regarding the bedding, this is the latest generation Mercure range, which we changed less than three years ago.
