Sweatbox with bugs

Tried to sleep there last night so hot neither myself, my husband or my 11 year old daughter could sleep. bugs everywhere. air con was advertised but no aircon available. Pay a little more and get somewhere decent. Breakfast cost 3 euro something each and was bread and cereal. Will never use again!!!

typical F1 hotel on estate next to a few restaurants and easy ride, bus or taxi into chartres. Does what it says on the tin, have used F1 hotels many times and always decent standard and price, you get what you pay for so good value. Hotel just undergone a refurb which was nice, clean and tidy as usual, reception welcoming and helpful.

Like most travellers, I just stopped for the night. As reception was closed, I had to figure out the self-service kiosk by the front door in order to get my room code. Not so difficult in the end, just for me having come from Orly after a 12-hour flight. As you can see from the website, Formule 1 rooms are basic: usually just beds, a sink, and a small table and uncomfortable chairs. That said, the toilets and showers are a short walk away, there's plenty of hot water in the shower, and everything was quite clean. My bed was very comfortable, with a fluffy duvet and clean linens. Beware--towels are not provided. But you can buy a large microfiber towel for 3 euros, which is not a bad price. Breakfast for 3.50 euros is the best buy in France, although you won't have gourmet pastries and the coffee comes from a machine. As I was the last person to arrive for breakfast, I enjoyed a long conversation with the manager about many things, especially the state of politics in the U.S. He also was very helpful in getting me logged onto WiFi the evening I arrived. Another perk is the Aldi supermarket just across the parking lot.

What's to say? F1's are always conveniently situated close to a road. All the rooms come with walls, a ceiling and a window. There is electric light, and other electric sockets, a TV, and a bed with pillows and covers. My room also had a wash basin with no plug, but both taps worked.They all proudly display their official 1 star rating prominently near the entrance door. Clean and cheap, and always busy!

This was our first experience of F1, I was interested to see what we'd get for €21 a night. It would liken it to sleeping in a cabin on a ferry but we were happy in our little cupboard. Definitely no frills here but the room was clean, the window opened and I slept very well. The toilets and showers were also clean and regularly maintained. For a quick stop on a budget it was perfect. On the downside, if you want anything more than mcd's or Kentucky to eat it's. 25 minute walk to the Center but it was worth the walk to spend some time in such a beautiful city. There is an Aldi a few mins walk though, handy for buying our picnic for the ongoing journey.
