Hotel is conveniently located near the train station and the main shopping street Pragstrasse. Very big hotel with two buildings, clean, spacious rooms, nice breakfast and friendly staff. The hotel atmosphere brings you back to the former DDR period

Hotel is a typical ibis, a budget hotel with all the basic things that one might need during the stay. The room was clean and of a good size. Location wise you couldn't ask for anything better, right in the shopping street, close to the train station and to the main sights of the city! Hotel is huge, spead over 2 blocks, each with around 10 floors. When i was there there were 50% of the elevators (2 out of 4) not working due to maintenance. On the last day, there was another elevator that was broken, thus only 1 elevator was functional to serve around 300 rooms during breakfast/check out time... its not fun when you are on the 10th floor..

A basic Ibis experience. Good. But the Wi-Fi is too weak in the room to be useful. When I complained at the desk, I was rather rudely told the wifi in the room is fine, thank you, but the problem is my device, which is what I’m using right now without any problem in the lobby right now. The staff member actually took the device out of my hand to work through the settings, and when I asked that it be visible to me, he tossed it on the counter and said he wouldn’t deal with it. “I’m not a technician,” he loudly grumbled and turned away. No manager is on the scene.

Hotel is OK and close to mainline station - walking distance to numerous restaurants and shops. Breakfast was fine although limited choice of hot food. Room was comfortable and wi fi worked in room. Public transport in Dresden is excellent with trams and buses going and connecting to all parts of the city. As a base the hotel was suitable but does not have much free area to spend time in the evening.

ibis Dresden Zentrum is close to Dresden main railway station, and it is located in two separate buildings about 80 meters from one another: Bastei building is where the only reception is located, Koenigstein is the other building. My room was in Koenigstein, and it was an OK room, with just the bare necessary. The bed was comfortable, and insulation from outside noise was good. The bathroom was also OK, although quite small. Breakfast was ok, with some choices available. Free wi-fi was also OK.
