About what we expected -- just fine

We needed 1 night close to CDG so that we could pick up a friend arriving the following morning. Overall, it was fine. Some of the decor in the halls could use updating, but the lobby and bar/restaurant area felt fairly up-to-date. For the price we paid, it met our expectations. Pros: - Location -- maybe a 5-minute drive to the airport. Wouldn't be great for walking, I wouldn't think/ - The town of Roissy-en-France is adorable, and it's a nice (short) walk through the park to get there. - Front desk staff was friendly and helpful - Bed was fairly comfortable - Breakfast offered lots of choices Could use improvement: - Parking access -- it wasn't clear that we'd need to call to be let in, and that we'd need to pay separately to be let out. Minor things. - The fellow at the bar seemed a little irritated that we were there. It was late afternoon (not yet peak bar time), so perhaps we interrupted his prep routine. But still.....it's always nice to feel welcome. - The "door" -- "wall"? -- on the shower was odd. One of those half-walls that usually start on the same side as the showerhead, except it started from the other end, leaving the side where the actual shower is, uncontained. On the other hand, I didn't need to move my shampoo into the shower -- just set it on the counter. :) Overall, I'm happy to return again if I ever need to stay near CDG -- just with some modified expectations.

A long trek from the airport for bad food but nice service.

The staff is friendly. The rooms are small, I can hear my neighbors, and the bed is not comfortable. I skipped the restaurant as I didn’t want my last dinner in Paris to be a bad buffet. I only stayed here because a use air France canceled a flight and has a deal with them. It is quite a trek from the airport, especially carrying luggage. the last part is outside across quite a large parking lot. the air france team said about an 8 minute walk. it was actually 10 minutes to the train, and then another 10 after the train. with a bad knee, or was a bad experience for me.

Very nice and friendly staff. The hotel is very well placed if you want to get quick to CDG airport. The room is silent and spacious and the décor is nice. The beds are comfortable and but the rugs kind of old and dirty, they have good food. The parking is generous enough but a litlte expensive.

This was a very big disappointment, especially for such a high price. The pillows are terrible so my neck hurt badly already after the first night (and still does 2 weeks later). Sound insulation is next to none. I could hear every plane flying above me (maybe they should add ear plugs to the room) and I also had bad luck because my room was next to cleaning lady's room, so from approx. 4 am she was nonchalantly slamming the door ALL THE TIME! My colleague who was in a room next to mine couldn't put the water down the toilet drain, so she used my toilet. She also couldn't properly close the window because the rubber on the window has partially fallen off, so she had a lot of unwanted bugs inside (those stinky ones, mosquitos and ladybugs). Oh and there was a bottle of empty Pommery just under my window. Breakfast - the room for breakfast is just poorly made and when there's more people, it's constantly overcrowded. We waited in lines for plates, which were always gone, one morning there was no water at 6:15 a.m., and when I mentioned this to staff, he said that I can tell it to someone else?? Nespresso machine wasn't working half the time, and pancakes were terrible. Bread and vienoisserie was really good though and I loved the choice of tea. Also, when I was watching staff "clean" tables and prepare them for new guests, I saw that they hold spoon head with their fingers, all the time. And they are super ineffective when cleaning. There is so many of them and it seemed as they don't really know what or how they were supposed to clean the diner. General cleanliness was mediocre at best.

Hotel Mercure was not clear about airport shuttle or location of hotel

There are two Hotel Mercure's near the airport, and we first went to the wrong one. They did get us a taxi to the other one. Evidently it happens a lot. When we checked in at the correct one, where I had a reservation, I asked about the shuttle to the airport the next morning. They showed me the schedule, but never mentioned that I would need a reservation or that I needed to buy a ticket, which I could have bought right there at check-in. When we went down the next morning I asked again about where to catch the shuttle. They told me I had just missed one, but there was plenty of time to get the next one, so we sat in the lobby with our bags to wait. When the shuttle arrived the driver told me I needed a ticket. He had to wait for me to go back in the hotel and get tickets from the front desk. It is baffling to me, that no one mentioned anything about reservations or tickets even when I asked specifically about the shuttle at the front desk twice. Other than that, the hotel was nice, clean, breakfast was good, and everyone was pleasant and nice.
