Room unbearably hot

It’s a nice enough hotel with pleasant staff. However, the room was far too hot. We were told the air con doesn’t start until May - it’s centrally controlled. Until then the in-room device works as a heater. The receptionist could do nothing to help. Two nights without sleep - it really was stifling. They couldn’t even find a fan for us.

Nice hotel, great location. But had a poor experience. Myself and my wife had travelled to Ghent to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. When booking, I requested that a few bottles of beer on ice be left in our room upon arrival as a surprise for my wife. As both of us don't drink champagne. Also sent an email directly to the hotel asking if this was possible and said yes, no problem, they could facilitate it. Unfortunately when we arrived in the room, there was no beer to be seen. They did put a little banner and 2 balloons in the room. Was left extremely disappointed as they had said they would facilitate it.

The room was nice, clean and pleasant. The staff were mostly smiley and friendly which makes the stay more enjoyable. Location of the hotel is superb. We went to Ghent to catch the Christmas market and this hotel is located right next to the market and revelry. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. As the hotel is located within the restricted car zone. So we parked our car nearby and lugged our luggages into the hotel. The receptionist told us if we can inform them earlier, we should be able to drive into the hotel to offload the luggages and park at another car park if theirs is full. Overall still an extremely convenient hotel.

As always we had a wonderful stay. We were upgraded to a really nice room looking over the market. The rooms are well insulated and so no noise. Pleasant bathroom with shower. Reasonably priced bar with pleasant staff. Very nicely decorated reception are where Wael and the team as always were most helpful. Pleasantly heated in the hotel as it was very cold outside. Situated in the centre of Ghent. Hopefully back early February.

Good location, ok rooms, horrible service

Although rooms are ok and location is excellent, I have never been so disrespected at a hotel before. Terrible service from front desk - one room had issues with water pressure and heating, and front desk person said it was not his job to take care of maintenance and treated me and my family in the rudest fashion.
