Stayed one night before our tour began. At $550 for just one night, Was overcharged--twice their customary rate. And it didn't even include breakfast!! To make matters worse, housekeeping never showed up and cleaned our room the first day. The hotel insisted that I had put out a sign saying I didn't want the room cleaned, which is absolutely NOT true. I've noticed from reading other reviews for this hotel on Tripadvisor that we are not the only guests that the hotel has pulled this with. Also noticed that the curtains in our room were stained. Would never recommend this hotel

Location is nice, in the centre of the city. But very poor service, rooms are due of maintenance and staff are not friendly at all. Didn’t recognise my Accor Diamond status even thought I’ve talked to the Manager Mr Andrea but noting change. There are many options around an a much better price.

Great hotel in a very central location

The hotel is well placed next to Dam Square just 10 mins walk from the train station. There is a tram stop just outside the front door. On check in the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was a great size with a very comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was lovely with a fantastic rainfall shower. Tea and coffee making facilities and a mini bar are also in the room.

Great location, but you're out of cell service (voice/4G/5G). Clean rooms, nice bathroom, plenty of storage.

Went here with two colleagues, so three rooms in total. I liked the bathroom (walk-in rainfall shower) and the quality of bedding. Room had plenty of storage space and multiple options for lighting. Location is excellent, a 10-minute walk from the Central Station. I think the only thing I was surprised by, was that as soon as we left the lobby and entered the elevators, all cell phone reception was pretty much cut off: phonecalls didn't go through and 4G/5G reception was useless. This forced us on to the hotel WiFi, which I generally do not like (security reasons) but had decent speed nonetheless. This applied to all three rooms (on the 2nd, 4th and 5th floors). Not sure what can be done about this, given that the space between the surrounding buildings is just a few feet and it's all made of stone through-and-through. However, safety reasons might warrant something to be done about this: for example, there's no way of using your cellphone to make a direct phonecall if something unexpected were to happen.

Swissotel in Amsterdam is a perfect place to stay, with superb staff who look after you so well. A special mention to the guy on the bar, who is a great asset to Swissotel.
