The resort is absolutely beautiful but it is the staff that make it an extra special experience! They are so smiley and helpful and always looking to make your day even better. A huge thank you to Venaisi who made sure we had everything we needed at breakfast and would then greet us again for lunch or poolside with the same energy. Truly amazing service and we’re very grateful to be treated so well.

Stayed here from 23/4/24 to 2/5/24, for holiday and the ACP2024 conference. I waited over an hour at check-in (no other guests waiting) as they couldn’t find the Luxury Escapes booking reference despite me forwarding the email from Luxury Escapes directly to their front desk. They refused to acknowledge the booking. I had to contact emergency assistance at Luxury Escapes and they finally found the booking. Totally unacceptable after travelling over 30 hours from Paris. The staff made a kind gesture delivering us miniature bottles of soap and some fruit (neither of which we actually needed). The air-conditioning in the room we stayed for our first night was horrible and stink of mildew/mould. We got food poisoning last night of our extended stay. My wife and I ate all meals in the restaurants and on the last night we went to the “Sofitel adults only Waitui Beach club”. My wife and I were both vomiting profusely a few hours after the meal. Our two kids who ate every meal with us except for that meal were completely fine. We explained everything to the general manager, but they refused to acknowledge that it was due to their food and canapés served at the adults only Waitui beach club. I am a medical doctor and I know we got sick from that food. They however conducted their own “investigation” and concluded it was not their fault. Whilst all the staff are very lovely, I doubt I will stay at Sofitel again after this experience. Given bungled check in, the risk of food poisoning and also the way that the management handled our complaints, I cannot recommend this hotel. Such as shame :(

We had such a fantastic stay here in April. The resort is beautiful. The staff are so friendly, helpful and are good with kids. The food is delicious and there are so many restaurants to go to at the resort. We were there 5 nights and didn't eat anywhere else on the island, we barely left the resort too. Our kids loved the kids club and were there for 6-7 hours a day by choice. The staff we so friendly and played so many games with them, and you could order dinner for them to be served at the kids club while adults can have a child free dinner elsewhere. The rooms were comfortable and recently renovated. Particularly wanted to mention the below staff who went the extra mile for us: Waime, Maca and Tomasi at the buffet. Semisi was our amazing bar tender at the suka bar. Joe and Oni at the grill. Finally, the FABULOUS staff at the kids club: Rafa, Terii, Tina, Tetha, Milly, Tori, Ulai (cookie), Kitty - our kids absolutely had the best time with you guys. We can't wait to go back next year!

We had a great time - for nights too short. This was our first visit back since Covid and we weren't disappointed. As on our previous visits we signed up for the adults only Waitau Club - well worth it! A lovely welcome and great service throughout our stay. Breakfast food was good and dinner at the Waitau Grill in the evening was very nice. Looking forward to coming back soon!
