excellent meeting room facilities. We had booked the lyceum room for two full days. The experience with the booking with Charlotte was excellent. The presence of a good Nespresso pods based coffee machine was a bonus! The location is perfect and there is a nice van serving oven baked pizza across the street.

Three day city break in Edinburgh enjoying every minute of it.

Novotel hotel is in a great location to the Royal Mile and Castle.Staff were lovely all so friendly. Breakfast was great plenty to choose from. Rooms plenty big and bed so comfortable. Loved the Rituals products provided in the bathroom an added bonus.Will definitely return to this hotel.

Very modern though oddly there was no way of controlling the heating (there was a note next to the 'thermostat' to this effect - altering it didn't make any difference) so we had to sleep with the window open. Breakfast buffet offered an excellent choice and the waffle maker was a novelty. A reasonable gluten-free offering and they made a cooked breakfast on request. Drinks from the coffee machine were average - and trying to get milk from the machine for the tea was awkward, requiring lots of button-pressing. Having experienced good breakfasts we decided to eat in one night of our stay. What a contrast! The only safe g/f option was the soup and the rest of the menu very unappealing. Maybe that's why the place was empty! One reason for choosing this hotel was the pool. We tried it once. No steam room (though I'm sure it was advertised), and a young couple 'carrying on' (to use a polite term), screeching with laughter in the middle of the pool, along with the eye-watering chlorine fumes in the jaccuzzi when it was running, drove us away. The changing room was tiny, no privacy, and in full view of the occupants of the giant sauna if the door to the pool was opened (or left open, as it was). So, I might return for the breakfast buffet but otherwise would look elsewhere.

Welcome by a MICE in my room!

I booked 5D4N at this hotel. The location is great (as described). The room (Room No. 507) was spacious and with nice bedding. The pool and sauna is good too (especially during cold winter). However, on the 4th day , i was shocked when i saw a MICE inside our room when i wake up early in the morning for my shower (standing in front of the cabinet). I was lucky not to steps on it as the the color of the carpet is quite similar too. Despite my musophobia, i have no choice but to use the towel to slowly push the mice out of my room. I went down and report to the front desk (and i tried to call the reception for help but the phone in the room was Out Of Service) about this incident only to be treated as if its something normal. No apology given as well. The way they handle this situation was really very disappointing. As a frequent traveler who always stay at Accor Group hotel, their attitude are really pissing me off. As i came back to the hotel in the evening, the reception/staff don't even bother to explain or apologize to me too. When i re enter my room that evening, i can easily guess that hotel staff didn't do any extra cleaning to my room. No offer by the hotel management to change my room too. A room with mice infestation is a very serious matters as they can contaminate food and surfaces they run along with a range of diseases.

I believe this was swiftly dealt with and resolved to your satisfaction, however I am sorry to learn that this was not the case and you left the hotel dissatisfied, I once again apologise for the discomfort and the distress it may have caused you. Stayed the one night to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel is modern with a lovely bar area. The facilities include a small pool with jacuzzi and Sauna. Very nice atmosphere about the place and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Drink prices are reasonable for Edinburgh. The restaurant menu looked ok but we had already decided to eat out. Breakfast was buffet style and just what you would normally expect. We paid extra for parking under the hotel and worked out cheaper than us travelling by the train the 15 miles from where we stay. 2 minute walk and your at the Grass market so excellent location. Edinburgh prices are quite expensive and we opted for an executive room with castle view. The room was excellent and very comfortable.
