Anniversary ruined by fighting, arguing, singing and SEVERE lack of Customer Service

We had the UNFORTUNATE pleasure of staying at this Hotel 20/04/24 with our Friends to help us celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Before our arrival I telephoned the hotel to ask if either A they could do something for our Anniversary OR B I could get something set up I was bluntly told NO on both counts. We arrived and found a parking space straight away £10.00 for 24hrs (awesome value) we then went off on our sightseeing tour. After doing the full MerseyBeat day we went to check in. A tall youngish girl in a red t-shirt tried NUMEROUS times to find our Booking to NO avail. Even with Booking Ref NO it took her a good 10mins to sort out the check in. We were allocated 4022 and 4024 top floor river facing views. 4022 was a really run down room. Dirty window (outside) knife cut marks all over work surfaces and TV unit. Bathroom door was broken and we couldn't close it at all so no privacy. At 02.30am we were woken by screaming coming from the corridor. Hotel staff were trying to deal with an arguing couple. To keep the female safe the staff found her a new room BUT after being woken by the screaming and commotion we tried to get back to sleep. At 04.30 am there was a large group of men sat outside reception (below our window) singing after 20mins the reception staff sorted it out. Overall our Anniversary trip was ruined. Check out should've been midday but at 09.00 we'd had enough and left tired weary and very disconsolate. Accor Ibis your hotel and staff are a shambles and customer service needs to be taught to ALL staff

First stay in an Ibis Hotel, wasn’t sure what to expect with the budget hotel and various negative comments but I was pleasantly surprised, very easy to get to, got parked on the onsite car park straight away, we were an hour early but the pleasant receptionist told us our room was ready which was great. The room was compact but had everything in I’d expect and was lovely and clean as was the bathroom. The bed was also very comfortable so had a great nights sleep. We didn’t eat or drink in the hotel so I can’t comment on that. The hotel is right opposite the Albert Dock and was a very short walk to the M & S Arena which we were visiting that night. Overall a great night away and won’t hesitate to book again.

The hotel is dirty and incredibly dated. It’s like very bad student accommodation. Black mould on the windows and in the bathroom and broken furniture. The only positive is the location . Would not recommend staying here and will certainly not be staying here again.

Had a 2 day stay with the family, 3rd time staying here as the location is very good, right by the dock and near town and all the attractions, the car park is a definite bonus. The room was clean and the bed comfortable , one of the smallest rooms I’ve been in , and paid the same for this room as my parents did for theirs and it was much more spacious. Only had a few interactions with the staff downstairs and unfortunately they were not the best, I asked a question about the menu one afternoon and was greeted by 2 staff “scoffing “ and then laughing … which is always lovely ! It was the same staff member who the day before was very abrupt to us .. not had this attitude in any pub or restaurant during the stay in the city. Not the best first impression of the hotel.

The ONLY good thing was the location

To start with the positives its a really good location, however the positives sadly end here. The rooms were absolutely freezing it felt like camping. The aircon /heater thing did nothing ofcourse. The room was dull and bland with mould on the curtains and dirty windows. The TV and hairdryer were barely functional. Breakfast had limited choice for people with allergies and what they did have was nothing special and overpriced. That leads us to the next problem of paying for breakfasts and then being asked to pay again upon leaving when we had already paid and asked to pay for an additional breakfast we did not have. Think twice before staying here.
