Yikes Stayed here 3 nights on business A disappointing start when front desk only had me booked for 2 nights, wouldn’t extend my stay for extra night “unless authorised by your booking company”…but also tried to charge me when the room was already prepaid by the same “booking company” Only one lift working out of two Room service took over 90 minutes on two nights (of 3) as “took wrong room number” Got charged full fee in bar one night despite being in “half price happy hour”. They’d charged half price the previous night and was in the advertised Wed-Sat happy hour 4-6pm slot. Had a late checkout and breakfast on third morning and couldn’t believe the state of the breakfast bar at 830-9am slot. Over half of tables left uncleared, no fresh setting for incoming diners, three staff standing around doing not much I get feeling staff need more training in bar, breakfast buffet and front desk It was a 3 star experience and I would not recommend

This was a massive disappointment. Booked here for a three night stay in order to deliver education to rural doctors, with facilitators staying at the hotel and course run at the Mercure meeting rooms I arrived to find that my (email confirmed) booking was apparently only fr two nights, not for three. The staff member on front desk refused to allow me to extend the stay, instead insisting that 'my company' needed to book it - but also tried to charge me direct for the room, despite it being prepaid by the organising medical college. What else? Hairs on the toilet seat (yuk) in the room. Orders from room service lost and needed chasing after 90 mins "we took the wrong room number" I would not recommend this place for a stay nor work function.

My husband and I had Christmas lunch at the Mercure. When we arrived the staff were extremely disorganised. The food was not out on the buffet and was not ready. No one approached us to take our drink order. We needed to ask staff on three occasions to organise a drink for our table. We paid $363.00 for lunch for two people. The food on offer was certainly NOT worth the money. When items of food ran out, they were not replenished. When the beef ran out, no more was organised. We were only offered two small slices of turkey each. The gravy for the turkey, beef and lamb ran out and was not refilled. There were very limited salads and hot vegetables on offer. The chips ran out, as they were popular and were not replenished. The staff were most unprofessional-no one seemed to know what they were doing. The whole experience was extremely disappointing. The pavlova was the only element of the meal which seemed up to standard. We were away from home and were looking forward to the buffet at the Mercure. I would not recommend Christmas Lunch at the Mercure. The local pub at Albany provided a more satisfying meal. We wished we had booked elsewhere. It was a simply dreadful experience and spoiled our Christmas Day. Please look elsewhere if you are wishing to book a Christmas Day buffet lunch for yourself and your family. I will not be recommending the Mercure to my friends, family and work colleagues.

Have just endured 2 nights at the mecure through Accor group, coming from Adelaide for a Freind's wedding..... I cannot express how unpleasant our stay was there...... the website is unbelievably misleading!!! After paying for early check in and confirming that our room was available for early check in... (confirmed by reception staff 3 weeks prior to our stay by phone call) we were told that our room on arrival was not ready and would need to wait until 2pm.....(it was 10am when we arrived and we had a wedding to be at, hence paying extra for the early check in). After a kick and fuss they then found a room which was fortunate however stressful. From there we found access to our room constantly a battle, as there was only 1 lift working......the entirety of our stay... and after reading reviews, it's been not working for a month or more! (we were top level with young children, so stairs were not an option), so it would take a very long time to be able to get up and down. Our room was musty, dated and cracked tiles throughout the bathroom wet areas. To get access to the pool and gym facilities was a nightmare due to once again fighting for a spot to get access to the one lift. Once you would have to go down to ground floor then walk around to the other wing and access the other lifts to go to level 13. From there the pool access route was so bad..... I had to witness my son fall in the dangerous unkept stairwell. He had some pretty bad bumps and grazes on him from it, alot of tears, but other than that, he's ok......... I was ready to just pack up and leave at this stage, however my wife convinced me to give it another chance. I couldn't believe, 5 minutes after our chat, my wife went for a walk on the top level at the pool patio area and her foot collapsed through the floor, due to I assume rotting floor.... Oh yeah and the multiple dead cockroaches were great to see lying around the pool and patio aswell. I was defeated at this stage. We went out to Perth for a look around as I couldn't stand being in the establishment any longer. The rest of the day, I was just stewing about the money I'd spent for our stay compared to what we got..... on our return, I was planning to purchase a stiff drink to calm my stress.....but 'not'... to my suprise, the bar wasn't open like usual. The next day, we couldn't get out of the mecure any faster..... Overall I can't emphasize how horrible my family and myself stay has been,.... To the people reading this...... don't bother.... save your money and stay at a cheaper accommodation..... it will be better than that place. If 'Accor group' believe that they want to represent an establishment like this, and say it's respectable , then don't follow Accor group. One thing more to mention, that the general manager Brian McHenry seems to do a hell of a lot of apologizing on google, from reviews along time ago with issues... However still to this date (14/11/23) nothing has been done.... (Like the elevator issues is well over a month)... His comments are cut and paste with no compensation for all the horrible experiences like mine.... Just "sorry".....but we will still take your money! And Brian ...... before you send a b@#sh!t cut and paste apology to me, go to your piece of sh@t hotel.... see for yourself what we are talking about and rectify it!!!! All you are doing is taking people's hard earned money for a fake a misleading experience.....Be a leader Brian and fix it!! ......... absolutely PATHETIC!!!!

Pool users beware! (particularly those with kids)

We booked a family 'staycation' for the last weekend of the September school holidays. We picked the Mercure for 3 reasons. We'd stayed there before, to make use of the pool on a hot weekend and because we were given a late check out of 2pm. Unfortunately while swimming in the pool, my 10 year old daughter was injured on a very sharp broken loose pool tile. An injury which required a trip to emergency, x-rays, 8 stitches and has left a visible scar on her fore arm. A very traumatic incident for all of us! Worst of all, the hotel has NOT apologised, has not confirmed to us that the tile has been fixed and have made no attempt to compensate us in any way. They've simply passed the matter to their insurer to deal with. We are deeply disappointed in the way that a respected brand such as Mercure/Accor have handled this and we are unlikely to use them again.
