We stayed in Cognac on our way to Bordeaux and Agen. Our experience from arriving to checking out was excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Plenty of restaurants to choose from and the town looked so interesting we decided to spend the following morning walking along the quay, looking at the chateau and historical parts of the town. A visit to the Martel (cognac) shop did not disappoint. Thank you to Jean on reception at the hotel for providing information and a map on where to go. Would definitely recommend and will be staying here again.

Ibis Cognac is a great example of a typical Ibis hotel. No frills , reasonably priced with everything we needed for an overnight stay on our road trip to Spain. The bed was comfortable, the facilities clean and the wifi was good. Breakfast offered a great selection and they even provided paper bags for people to take stuff away with them . It was well placed to explore Cognac. We didn’t visit any of the brandy producers but there several within a few minutes of the hotel. There is free parking in the public car park opposite the hotel. Special mention should be given to Lucy on reception who went out of her way to be helpful. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

Bed fine but room tired. Also too small for two people. Not really very clean. Very small toilet room. Shower room also small. Both very unpleasant. This hotel is very poor. The breakfast was ok. Not really a central location either. Would never return to this hotel. Cognac itself is lovely and there are nicer places to stay. We booked this knowing it would be plain but it was just awful. Badly in need of upgrade.

Everything about this stay was very good. The check-in was freindly and professional as was the check-out.. The room was good with excellent bed, and very clean. Ibis brerakfast was up to the usual high standard. Cognac is a wonderful town.

OK, so we know it's a budget hotel, but... the rooms are VERY small, even for this class of hotel. There's no facilities in the room for making a tea or coffee. Apparently EVERY kettle in the hotel was broken. Really? Air-con in the room was subjective. That being said, the service overall was good, friendly welcome and plenty of local knowledge.
