Disappointing stay

We stayed in this hotel for a few nights when visiting Zurich. The over all experience in Zurich was great, Switzerland is a beautiful country and the people are the most friendliest I ve come across in Europe I was very disappointed with the hotel, having worked in Hotels I know when I see poor maintenance. The room was dated, with a TV from the 80's (not a problem when your out all day, but when you want a bit of TV for the Kids, not great) The bathroom was dirty, the grout had plenty of mould and generally looked unhygienic. One of our rooms had a bottle of alcohol broken, as usual the lady in reception disputed this was very unfriendly and unhelpful. I don't think this hotel does justice to beautiful Switzerland.

Good Place to stay, not overpriced

We stayed here twice on a recent family trip to Europe. We began and ended our trip in Zurich, and stayed at this location for a total of 3 nights. The location is convenient for it's proximity to the airport, and it's very close to the train stop. The rooms were small, but no less than most European hotels. We traveled as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids ages 7&6) and we were able to sleep comfortably at night. The staff was very friendly. Would recommend to others, and would stay here again

Friendly staff and needed renovation in progress

I was welcomed by friendly staff and I was given a brand new renovated room. The hotel is undergoing an extensive and needed renovation. Bed was comfortable and the room itself felt cozy and calm. The hotel is directly located next to a tram station which makes it logistically easy to commute from and to Zurich airport

Rooms in bad need of repair!

Rooms badly need fixing! Marks on the walls, rusted lamp and rusted bathroom drains that didn’t work, hair dryer that went on and off, discolored tile caulking, no soap or shampoo in shower, only at the sink, and more. Certainly not worth $250 a night plus city tax! We were there for one night, and when we checked out, and listed our complaints, we were told just “My Apologies.” And then asked why we didn’t let them know at check in so we could change rooms! We’re we supposed to inspect the entire room on check in?!? No offer of lowering the rate, just a rude attitude. Never will stay at a Novotel again!

Very pleasant stay

Excellent last minute stay due to flight issues getting home. Staff were friendly, helpful and understanding, really could not have done more for us in our situation. Rooms were spacious, smelt nice and clean. Beds were comfy and facilities in the rooms were great. Only minor improvements in my opinion to make our stay even better, kettle in room instead of just coffee machine hot water (gets hotter in a kettle for teas), normal breakfast tea in room and a robe would have been nice. Would highly recommend!!
