Ours was a wonderful stay. To break it in parts Location: Its not in the city center but not too far. it takes around 30 minutes by tram to reach central station. The tram station is a 2 minute walk. Metro takes shorter but the line was closed for maintenance during our stay. RAI train station is also a 2 min walk direct trains to SCHIPOL are to be taken from there so connectivity is no issue. CHECK in AND CHECK out: EASY and QUICK ROOMS: Spacious by European standards. All required amenities were there. a big thumbs up. BREAKFAST: We loved it. Superb. There was an automatic machine for umbrellas rental 2 Euro for 48 hours. Which were helpful in the Amsterdam weather. It was really a comfortable stay for us. highly recommended.

Nice hotel. Restaurant needs to rethink sustainability options.

This is a good hotel that’s well located for the exhibition center as well as public transport to the city centre. The rooms were nice. The Wi-Fi was fast, the gym was small but OK and the hotel does have a large restaurant that serves meals all day. The one issue I do have is actually with the restaurant. I had dinner there one night and ordered a soft drink. As is common in Europe, I was served a 200 ml glass bottle. This is such a poor choice from a sustainability point of view. The glass is half the weight of the bottle and shipping tiny glass bottles all over Europe is such a waste of energy. The restaurant should just use a post mix system and serve soft drink in a glass. What made it even worse was that after I finished the tiny soft drink I asked for some tap water. The server said that they are “not allowed to serve guests tap water”. The only option was the 1 L bottle of water that was sitting on the table and priced at eight euros. I pointed out that it was ridiculous charging eight euros for a bottle of water and the server’s suggestion was that they could serve a smaller 375 ml bottle if I didn’t want that much. That’s not the point. They should serve tap water. The tap water in the Netherlands is fine. I actually don’t even think it’s legal for them to refuse to give tap water, given that they do serve alcohol. The restaurant really needs to think a bit more about improving its options from a sustainability point of view.

OK Business Hotel

It's a business hotel, so close to CBD. Clean rooms, though a bit small. What's good: Good breakfast, great housekeeping service (except laundry), decent view of the city What's not : no toiletries except shampoo, shower gel and hand wash (not even a moisturiser), no glasses to drink water from (just 2 tiny coffee cups), no mini bar. One specific thing on laundry - be careful when u give it for laundry it might not come back clean. Though the staff is super sweet about it, it's a job not well done. All in all, ok hotel to stay if on a budget and for business. Don't expect much.

Like any Novotel, a decent business hotel. The checkin took longer than usual. The room size is fine but the bathrooms were small. We took the breakfast at the hotel and felt that it wasn't a very good spread. The metro station is a 5 min walk away so very convenient to get to Amsterdam Centraal station.

Good hotel

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights at Christmas time. The hotel itself was nice and modern. The room was spacious and well decorated. Bed was comfortable and TV had some English channels. There was a Nespresso coffee machine and supplies were replenished daily. There was also a tea kettle, mini fridge, ironing board and a self coded safe. The hotel was quiet and walls well insulated, so we always got a good night sleep. Location was perfect for us. Easy 5 min walk to RAI station with easy train connection to Schiphol Airport, and Metro to various areas of the city. Further 15 min walk North past Europaplein there were numerous restaurants for breakfast and dinner and numerous stores. The recently introduced OV-pay system is great for tourists. No need to bother with tickets, passes, chipkaarts etc. Just tap your credit card at entry and exit. The hotel itself had a nice restaurant, breakfast was good but overpriced at 23.50 EUR per person. There was also a small coffee shop in the lobby, but it was also pricey and had very small selection of pastries. Nespresso machine in room came very handy, and few restaurants nearby provided breakfast for about half cost of the hotel. The weather in December in Amsterdam is rainy and windy, so one needs to be prepared. On the positive, temperatures hovered around 5-12 C. Keep also in mind that the hotel, like all others in Amsterdam, charges approximately 3 EUR per person per night city tax, which normally is not included in your reservation and needs to be paid at check in. Overall hotel provided what was needed, and we highly recommend staying there.
