Located between Maebashi and Ohta Cities in the Gunma Prefecture, Isesaki lies at the centre of the Japanese archipelago, in the northwest of the Kanto Plain. Just two hours from Tokyo and accessible via road or rail, Isesaki retains its sense of old fashioned hospitality but is evolving rapidly. What was once a small industrial town is now a fast growing and commercially modern city with a population of more than 200,000 people. Traditionally famous for its silk fabrics and textile industry, Isesaki today consists of four main parts, a commercial area, residential region, industrial hub and farming district.
