The famous "Braderie de Lille" takes place on the first weekend of September. If you love flea markets, always hoping to chance upon the rare find, you have to go to Europe's biggest second-hand market.

Shop on Rue Basse in the Old City for excellent quality leather goods. If you love unique and atypical jewelry, go to Place des Patiniers. For ethnic fabrics and wares, head to Rue Saint Nicolas or Rue Lepelletier. |
