The Camargue is a wetland, a place of paradoxes where nature, like the famous Camargue horses, flourishes, untamed and proud.
A world of traditions
Traditions as colorful as Provencal fabrics are mainly centered around horses and toros (bulls). The Camargue gardians are passionate about their horses and the manades (herds of bulls) they watch over.
A land of water and nature
Water - fresh, salty or brackish - is omnipresent in the Camargue. It is key to an extremely dense flora and fauna, which, besides horses and bulls, includes pink flamingoes, gray herons, egrets and other bird species.
