Portugal, Povoa De Varzim

| | On the Costa Verde, one of Portugal's most beautiful regions, Póvoa de Varzim is a pleasant resort town which offers a dual ambiance, that of a fishing port with its traditional customs and a cosmopolitan resort with modern hotels and casinos.
Beaches: special mention The sea may be a bit cooler than it is in the south, but the beaches are every bit as pretty! Póvoa de Varzim boasts wide stretches of fine sandy beaches.
Cultural and gastronomic heritage The Costa Verde is a compendium of different architectural styles. Its gastronomy, one of Portugal's purest, is part of that heritage, along with, of course, the famous Port wine. |

| | Sports and leisure at Gerês The Peneda-Gerês National Park must be seen for its scenery, flora and fauna, all magnificent. Water spurts out of cliff faces, you can hike along old Roman trails, or go jet-skiing on the lake. A fantastic place for letting go.
Farming The Campos de Masseira are agricultural fields in the middle of dunes, sheltered from the ocean winds. The fields enjoy a special micro-climate good for growing grapes and flowers. A must-see.
Swing in the sun Built right in the dunes along Rio Alto beach, treat yourself to a round of golf and enjoy wonderful views of the ocean and countryside. |
