The sea all around
A peninsula with a jagged coast, Darss is bordered by the Baltic and by several inlets called boddens. The small coastal town of Wustrow, with picturesque thatched roofs, offers a gorgeous setting for enjoying sports.
Ski sensations
The shallow waters make for great skiing. Grab your waterskis or wakeboard and hit the water. Sail puffed out, windsurf boards easily pick up speed, promising an exciting ride. From the sea, admire the view of the shore rimmed in sand and pebbles. |

| | Local pontoons
The region is great for walking, horseback riding, biking or kayaking. Wherever you go, you're bound to find a pontoon on the way. Crossing them is a little strange: you feel like you're walking on water.
Warnemünde
Formerly a leading holiday spot for East Germans, Warnemünde is now an outstanding kitesurfing spot. Every year the German championships are held here.
Rügen
It's possible to sail all the way to Rügen, Germany's largest island. What a fantastic view you'll have from your boat of the very steep chalk cliffs called the Stubbenkammer. |
