The Festival Centre is Australia's leading performing arts venue and one of the reasons for Adelaide's nickname, "City of festivals." A major event held there is the famous "Festival of Arts" which draws performing artists from around the world.

Make no mistake, Adelaide has more than a few hot night spots. Try the Exeter on Rundle St, the Crow and Anchor on Grenfel, and there are plenty more on Rundle and Hindley Streets. |

A huge event in Australia, the Festival program includes theatre, dance music, Writers' Week, art exhibitions, and poetry readings. The Adelaide Fringe is another arts festival which also presents avant-garde art.
A little beach time
Glenelg Beach is one of the trendiest beaches. An old tramway takes you to it from the center of Adelaide in under a half-hour. Easy and convenient.
